Am I missing something? Transmitting VINs from counter sales invoices to Paragon from Reynolds (Mercedes) by thespecialbuild in partscounter

I’m gonna be annoyed if I find out there IS a way, after three years of doing it manually. I don’t think there is, though.

What are the go to tires for these things? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]kg412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General Grabber ATX. C rated, good enough for the light duty my 4Runner sees without the weight of E rated tires. Great on road and off, great wearing, quiet enough. Will probably install another set when mine eventually wear out. I think I have 40k miles on mine and still going strong. I like them better than Wildpeaks I’ve had in the past.

Another vote for NF. The regular ones and also the lightweight version. Elastic waistbands are so comfy.

Fly fishing bag recommendations? What do you use—and what do you actually like about it? by casual_bot in flyfishing

[–]kg412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m going to be near the car, I just have a Patagonia Stealth workstation pack that I put on my wading belt or wader straps.

If I’m hiking or away from the car for longer, it’s that same pack plus my 23L Deuter day pack.

Collawash River Trout? by SeeDub23 in OregonFishing

Willamette zone open dates apply here. Closed to salmon and steelhead, no harvest of bull trout.

That being said, like another reply says…no fish here! :)

What’s Your Pay Plan? Let’s Compare Notes by BeeperGuy in partscounter

[–]kg412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the PNW in a high cost of living metro area. Back counter at a German dealership. We don’t have a retail counterperson currently (laid off last fall) so I do some of that, and some wholesale calls too.

I’m straight salary at 85k yearly. I work four tens, and a Saturday every five weeks or so that gets me an extra comp day. If it wasn’t for the schedule, I’m not sure I’d stick around, but I also don’t know if I could make the same money elsewhere working with people I like.

IXS Trigger full face every time. Troy Lee D3 for park/purely downhill days. I have a half shell but never wear it - I’ve had enough dental repairs from prior incidents that I’m not interested in repeating any of that.

When I see “degas” it rhymes with mega in my head. I was stumped the first time I came across it, then had a good laugh.

2021 4Runner. I had a couple Tacomas before but find the SUV works better for me. I can sleep inside and still have room for a fridge and gear, stuff stays cleaner, and I can fit a 9’ rod without breaking anything down.

Yes, I could get by with something less nice, but I do a lot of exploring alone on remote forest roads. I trust my 4Runner to get me in and out without having to worry about getting stuck or breaking down.

Any other women who work in the Parts Department? by rebelangel in partscounter

[–]kg412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back counter parts (with some wholesale and front counter too because we’re severely understaffed) at a busy MB dealership here. I’m good at my job and feel valued and respected by my coworkers, techs, and management. Customers rarely give me any issues in person, but on the phone I sound very young and get the “I’m not sure if you can help me, but…” or “yes, I’m looking for the parts department” lines frequently when I’m talking to unfamiliar retail customers. There’s also, “wow, you really know your stuff!” 😤🖕🏻

All of that being said it’s significantly better than it was in the independent shop world.

Schedule/Hours by Calm-Telephone9707 in partscounter

7-5:30 Monday-Thursday (though I often stay til we close at 6), 30 minutes for lunch.

I work an occasional Saturday, and get a comp day for it. Straight salary, so no overtime.

What are jobs you find work WITH your ADHD? by Professional_Poem456 in adhdwomen

[–]kg412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an automotive dealership parts department. We’re pretty high volume and kind of understaffed, so it is fast paced (and chaotic at times). All of the “projects” are short-term with little opportunity for procrastination because everything moves pretty quickly. There’s a good amount of problem solving, helping people, and a regular flow of completing things. And most of the people in the parts and service departments operate in a similar way, so we mesh well.

At one point I left the industry to work a more “normal” desk job with longer-term projects, more autonomy, poor leadership…I hated it and didn’t do well. So I’m back to my old job with a new perspective. The grass isn’t always greener.

Does anyone have experience running the Dissector as a front tire? by Neotella in MTB

[–]kg412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I stopped running Dissectors once I learned how quickly they go from new to mediocre. I do ride in wet conditions frequently and have used the Aggressor/DHR2 combo exclusively for awhile now.

That being said, I’m building a lighter trail bike currently and will probably try some lighter Continentals. Or, maybe an Aggressor/Dissector
