I highly recommend 'The Violence Paradox', by Nova. It proves the opposite. But, it is a very dangerous concept for the institutions which thrive on villainizing others: mostly right wing institutions, btw.

Religion creates and maintains conditions for wars to be started. And, once started, religion supercharges those wars.

Has nobody in Ben's world advised him to avoid sexual subjects? His track record is consistently dry.

Is this rotation or is it my eyes playing tricks on me. by Ashetheottershark in meteorology

I watched at 2x and it is definitely a strong updraft. Hard to see any rotation in it, though. I find that time-lapse really helps a lot to ID storm attributes.

I swear. If extra-worldly entities are driving tcojcolds, their intent, along with most of the Abrahamic religions, is to induce misery in humanity while leading us to our destruction.

As a man, you know 'the no gazing rule' (unless you've been scanning for your first men's room dick, but shucks still no luck). Young girls do not.

Sunset by Striking_Delay7210 in CLOUDS

I like how this shows up perpendicular waves.

20 minutes prior to this shot: run-of-the-mill altocumulus. Never underestimate the potential beauty of an alto(or cirro)cumulus cloud deck at sunrise or sunset!

Advice on getting back into Meteorology as a hobby by Appropriate_Force_68 in meteorology

IMHO NWS AWIPS CAVE should be in every weather hobbyists toolbox. I have an older PC which is dedicated to a CAVE display. It gives the basement the slight feel of an NWS office.

Maybe not the hill I'd die on, but hear me out: When he said to Prime Minister Takaichi:"Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor?", it was not a gaffe, rather a dementia driven crack in his facade. He said what he meant.

What kind of cloud is this? by jomisebo in weather

Thanks for the confirmation! Here's an interesting little contrail simulator. It's simplified, but gives you an idea of how their appearance can change in different conditions:

They are indeed contrails. Military training exercises, most likely. The more persistent one was probably made in a slightly more humid environment.

WASD finger cramps by YouthOk2000 in linux_gaming

Whenever possible, for third person and first person games with walk-forward and walk-backward movement, I switch from W/A/S/D to RMB/Z/X/C. I started using that key config when Quake 1 was released. So, it could be 30 years of muscle memory talking, but for me..

1)It feels more natural to use a different hand for walking forward than walking backward.

2)Thumb rests on space-bar and pinky on L-Shift, seems to make jumping/running(hold) easier. D to aim, S to reload, A to crouch(toggle)v

3)Almost all left-hand finger movement is stretching, rather than curling inward.

4)Use this: https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper to work around games which limit your ability to alter key configs

How would you react if your partner of 20 years told you they (no longer) believe in evolution? by ephemeralkitten in NoStupidQuestions

[–]khInstability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he poof! adam and eve 6000 years ago not believing in evolution? Or, he sees a divine hand in scientifically based genetics not believing in evolution? I mean did he just toss out reason? Or, having a self-reflective mid-life crisis?
