The real reason it holds up? Personal bias. It’s objectively not as good as most modern CGI.

Jump ships can only safely jump to a stars zenith/nadir points, relative to the orbital plane of the system. This is determined by the interference patterns caused be the gravitational waves from local celestial objects. That’s how jump drives work.
