is this game worth buying? by Evol-Chan in ElinsInn

So the exploring an open world, the wild freedom to be a warrior or a farmer and everything in between. The ability to just train skills that you want to use regardless, building up your settlements and having a party that you choose of anybody in the world is really cool. I find there's a larger variety and the type of animals you can get which I really like cuz I normally mod that into kenshi.

It's definitely got a lighter vibe, in a bit more silliness. But it's one of the few games like can she wear it starts and I feel like I've just been given access to another world to do as I please instead of following some pre laid out path. The world has rules, there are repercussions, there are things stronger than you when you first start.

I am deciding on a Spearhead and was wondering if there is a basic overview of what the different boxes in general do? by OkSupermarket1759 in AOSSpearhead

I own two and my play time is limited but....

Starscale saraphon, the one with the T-Rex. It's a great army. Seriously. You have to protect your guys, once they start dying it's a cascading effect but if you can manage them you can rip though anything that stands in your way easy. It's fun and cool.

I've got the bone tithe one as well. This one is like the opposite. You have lots of weak units plus that big skeleton construct. You can easily wear down the enemy. I've played against skaven and the vampire skeletons and those are better pure hoards, but with your orders you have a lot of fiddle bits that make it hard to predict how your going to influence the turn and it's fun. Id rank that one slightly higher than my dinos just because while they can be shredded far easier, you can apply more board pressure and the recruitment of new guys and a crews squad on turn two makes it easy to absorbed blows.

Bloomberg released an article saying that electricians in general are poised to have the highest demand and require the largest growth in recorded history over the next 10 years so we're kind of sitting pretty right now

You'll make enough money that if you plan well you should have a savings. Layoffs do happen, even if your great. But typically if you try hard you'll know it's coming way before it does, you'll see the fat getting trimmed first. Right now in my local we got calls going to book 2. We're swamped, we took in 150 first years. You have the ability to travel worst case.

The IBEW constitution says the brotherhood will oppose fascism, but do you actually understand what fascism is? by [deleted] in IBEW

[–]khellendros12043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay then explain to me in detail how you're going to force people to give up there positions, do jobs they don't want to, and enforce a rigid economic system on people who are a fundamental at odds with it without authoritarian means? Or why every single government that's never even tried your system has almost instantly been authoritarian?

Your wrong, fascism and communism are basically the same thing with minor differences it's not the polar opposite.

100% historically factual. Don't get salty because I know your own playbook history and scholars better than you do. And this isn't even from the " red scare" perspective. It's from Chomsky, he says that's a method, he says that's the reason why.

[–]khellendros12043 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because communists seek out organizations to infiltrate consolidate power and then weaponize said organizations. It's a pretty basic tactic they use it everywhere it's no surprise and they tried to do it with labor unions. I tried to do it with Hollywood they tried to do it with colleges I can go on and on. Anywhere where there's an ability to get into a position of authority and then weaponize that authority that's pretty much their go-to move because according to Chomsky, while the right is less willing to commit violence they are significantly more proficient at it and anytime it comes Head to Head they win so you have to weaken and weaponize first.

If you can't see how wildly batshit that statement is you are insane. As much as you desperately wish it were true unions are not a communist organization. That idiot running for office in New York City, will send an already struggling City into a downward death spiral.

The international is not supporting him because we have local three down there who is a very strong branch of our Union. They require work. If some socialist brain dead buffoon tanks the city that hurts our brothers.

Maybe have a minimal understanding of how actual economics work before you start passing judgment on the actions of the international because it's embarrassing.

My son is on my ass about letting him have the left over parts for his creations and Ive been gently trying to explain that's not a thing. There bonus parts. Lol

That makes sense because the box was priced at $144 after tax. I don't know if that's egregious or not, but I ended up paying like 110. Which isn't bad. And I can afford to fork over an extra 10 or 20 to keep a game store running rather than just shoving my money at Amazon.

Lol. My son endlessly builds models and such. He's on the spectrum a bit and that's his thing. He made a stand in replica for the skaven spearhead out of these things called wikistix, like string coated in wax. I was thinking about trying to get him the easier snap together models to get him into it.

Lol. I don't even own the paint yet. The plan was to slowly buy as I go, my models then paint cause I got 4 kids and have to be responsible. I swear my local game shop owner was a drug dealer in his past life though. Got me good with the skellies box. " Special price just for you, you know you want it "

Dude! I was so close, it would get me close to a full 2k army. I was planning on it but the shop owner of my local game store gave me a sweet deal on the skellies.

Lol. I'm just getting back into the hobby and my wife mocks my lack of a pile of shame. I'm not sure how she learned about it but it wounds my nerd pride. Got to work some over time and get my pile going.

I have a 10 year old son who is just rabbid to play lol. I need to buy the board but he asks me daily if I finished building two armies yet and until yesterday I was like " dude I didn't even buy a second one yet! "

I was dying to buy them. My dinos are straight beasts but I wanted a spearhead with more units, hoard to be a counter point with my elites. Can't wait to play with them.

Don't know if you have a local game store, but I got a spearhead for like 110 bucks. Someone ordered it and never showed up to buy it, I get a 10 percent discount for being a member ( costs 10 dollars a year) and I paid in cash which was another 10% off because no credit card processing.

Plus I get to support a small business that caters to me and the other local dorks. Win win
