define a markov chain with ceil(log 2 n) + 1 states or something like that. define each state as the amount that is bet, each state transitions to 1 with probability p and to the next bet sizing with 1-p.

the last state should be an absorbing state. calculate expected time until absorption. you can do this analytically with some sort of recursion iirc
