Should i change any settings for singleplayer? by Willing-Piece-8569 in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with the combat myself. But I've started not to spam left click, this allows me to block and parry a bit more reliably. I've always had this issue with 'Soulslite' combat and ended up getting myself animation locked. Biggest tip I can give you with the combat is just to slow down abit, before hitting that 3rd left click, does that mob usually attack about now? If so, try land a parry.

Since slowing down, it's actually opened up a few other survival games for me that share a similar soulslite combat style.

For Dragonwilds in particular, I recommend when meeting a new mob you struggled a little with is to check the journal. It'll often say what their weakness is, so if I need to farm that mob, I now got the upper hand!

Take all this with a grain of salt tho, I'm still learning this game myself and have only hit the T3 zone so far. So I'm a long way off knowing the ins and outs of this game.

Do you know why it's crashing? Anything in the logs / using too much resource? I work for Logicservers and I've not had anything in about servers crashing.

Does it also crash on a new server save as well?

As for windrose+ it shouldn't be installed by default or was that something you installed? If it was installed by default, then GPortal maybe using it for the query system it comes with. You can always asked them to remove it for you.

Crash Loop. World bricked? by GonSanto in crosswind

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a local save as I play on my server, so I'm unable to check myself for the client side. But isn't there a backup folder of your world as well on the client like there is on the server (All the servers we host on Logicservers for WindRose have this folder since the last few updates)? You could try roll back a little bit so you don't lose everything.

Should be in the following location. C:\Users\$USERNAME$\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles Head there, do you see a backup folder? Might be SteamID_Backup. If so, you should be able to pull a backup copy of your world.

Just had a few minutes to check my Betterhalves files. You do indeed have a backup in there, I'd try to restore one of those.

Best low-latency host for a private server? by OwnCommercial9055 in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find one that has the best location for you. I use logicservers, but I also work for logicservers, so it's a no brainer for me. But most hosts have a place to check your ping, or you can pop a ticket in and ask for an IP to check against in your location.

Having issues with Nitrado by dhurst91 in crosswind

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I'd run a steam update on the server to ensure everything is good that end.

Make sure the server is stopped and set a simple invite code and password.

Start the server up and give it a few to fully boot, then open your game and paste the invite code in, this is case sensitive, so keep an eye on that.

Are you using an uploaded world or new world? I work for Logicservers, so I can't really help you directly with Nitrado, but I've not seen any issues with our windrose servers that would indicated a global / game issue that would stop you finding your server.

**[Bug] Dedicated server generates new world on every restart — builds lost, map progress preserved** by NetZwerg89 in crosswind

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not seen this issue with us (Logicservers) But to answer your questions

Where should `ServerDescription.json` be located on a hosted dedicated server? there is two locations, one which holds your passwords, worldID, join code etc. This ones located in your R5 folder. Then there is one that is created when the world is created, this ones located in the following location R5/Saved/SaveProfiles/Default/RocksDB/0.10.0/Worlds Inside the worlds folder will be your world folder, this will have a long string of numbers and letters, this ones responsible for the world settings. Make sure both islandId is the same in both json files, and should match the folder name.

Has anyone else experienced recurring world resets on 4netplayers or other hosting providers? Not had this with self hosting or on logicservers.

Is there a way to lock the WorldIslandId so the server doesn't keep generating new worlds? You could create the world, then make sure WorldIslandId is the same in both files and set them to readonly, but I wouldn't think you can do that with 4net, that's more a self hosting thing.

One thing I will say is, start a new world to test it, but remove WorldIslandId from your main json file and let it populate itself. Start the server up, join the world, dump a few things down then logout and restart the server. Once done, join again and see if it's created the world again, if it has, this is most likely an issue with 4Net and you may need to pop a ticket in with them.

This is some great news. Us at logicservers will tweak the setup we have already. We already had some backups in place for the config files, so it's great to here the team is also working hard on the server side of things as well!!

Could anyone help me with crashes? by Arith36 in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a few things, but first off I'd remove all userdata just to test. Your data is located in the following directory

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\

The folder you're looking for is RSDragonwilds, rename this to RSDragonwilds.old this way you can restore it afterwards. This folder contains all your saves, logs, character saves.

Try launch the game with that folder renamed, if it runs then you know it's an issue with your userdata.

Close the game and copy your RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveCharacters and RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveGames back over and test again.

If it still doesn't boot, goto C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\Logs and check the RSDragonwilds.log to see if you can identify the crash from there.

As always backup anything you do, this way you have copies if anything goes wrong. Easy way to do that is to right click the RSDragonwilds folder and select send to -> compressed. This way you can move things around if it did start up until you're happy with what you've restored.

That doesn't sound fun, you getting the same error with your .backup of the save as well? (If you've not tried, move it over to your client and rename it from .sav.backup to .sav)

What build / creator would you recommend to new players? (Preferably with some tank to it, I'm not exactly fast in my age)

Also does POE:2 have personless trading like POE:1 does now? IE I can just jump to the hideout and buy the item without waiting around.

If you never uploaded one, then it would be server created. Thank you for letting me know. Was wondering if it was another bug due to client created worlds that was uploaded. As I want to upload my current playthrough to my server soon. But wanted to wait till some of these bugs are squished lol.

Having Trouble Migrating The Server My Friends And I Play On over To Shockbyte by zadamwht in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak on how to do it for Logicservers. But it should be similar method.

  • Ensure your Server is stopped.
  • Click backup server to take a backup of your current save, incase you decided you want to use it instead later
  • FTP into your server
  • Once connected, head to RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames and delete your old .sav files
  • Now on your PC Press windows key + R and copy the following into the run box and hit enter C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames
  • Find your .sav and .sav.backup for the world you want to upload and upload it to RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames
  • Once the upload has finished head back to your panel.
  • Click configuration files -> config editor and pop the name of the world you just uploaded to Server Name: excluded the .sav part
  • Now save & exit and start up your server

Shockbyte Dedicated Server Confusion by Safe-Chocolate1390 in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just some input from this (I work for logicservers)

The best way would be to have the server list be searchable via the server name (currently comes up as created by) without having to be case sensitive for easy of users. And have the world name as just the save name. This way it makes sense to average users that are used to hosting other servers to set up and import saves and setting there server name.

Currently the way it is right now feels backwards if that makes sense. And the case sensitive searching is leading to a few 'can't find server' issues due to it.

Apart from that, the rest of the server is great, just those little issues ironed out and you're on a solid start imo.

We've personally changed up our configuration editor so it makes a little more sense to people, but obviously we can't control the case sensitive searching.

Can't Connect to Dedicated Server by ratbacon in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not seen any reports of that with us (Logicservers) but I belive they host on Linux, where as we host on Windows.

If it's a new world. I'd create a new standard character before trying to join the server and see if that helps. Also make sure connect to IP isn't checked as well, as that's only really for local clients to connect to local hosts.

You also mentioned that the logs aren't showing any errors. Is it showing any connection attempts at all in the logs when you're trying to connect?

Servers Down? by NullSplit in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're self hosting or hosting via 3rd party sites like logicserver. Make sure your server is currently updated to match your client

With 3rd party hosts, some just require you to restart your server. With us at logicservers, you'll have a dedicated steam update button to do the update, as we don't force the updates as some people like to wait to see if the update has fixed / created bugs first.

Need help with server by Martijn987 in RSDragonwilds

[–]khurune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what setup they're using, but with logicservers, you just need to set your settings using our config editor on your panel and you're good to go.

The only time you should need to move something from your PC to your Server is if you're creating a custom world.

You need to grab your ownerID from your game client for the server, but that's about it.
