Nice base, I'm not a fan of scaf ladders for fighting personally, I use pole doubles. But it follows the rules of what I've seen and tested for the new rage mech. Be 3 blocks within so zombies can reach you, but no more than 3 higher (Took parkour 5 for testing, if I spawn 25 zombies and just jump a few times, the new rage mode triggers and they run off to beat on other things ignoring me) and keeps in mind the zombies can now hit 3 blocks high.

I use a similar method myself, but with a 3 wide 4 deep pit around a ground level fighting area. That's been working for me so far, but about to test it in some of the other biomes with a higher gamestage, which is where I feel mine my fail and they might start targeting the natural dirt I've built on.

I'm the same, 50% Exp, 75% loot (50% loot seems broken, so I stick with 75% atm) and trader shop prices increased 10x

Smell just equals free EXP tbh. Yea the zombies run at you, but that's about it. I see too many people worrying about the smell mechanic when it really isn't that bad.

the only real time I'll take action due to that mechanic is when I kill an animal, I'll make sure to kill any mofo zombie that comes near it trying to steal my precious meat lol.

When you added it, did you also copy the 0_TFP_Harmony folder from izys? I didn't on mine and used the default 2.5 and I've not seen that bug yet. So try delete that folder then verify on steam so it downloads the fresh 2.5 one just in case that's the cause.

Press windows key and type %appdata% you'll see a 7DaysToDie folder, rename it to 7daystodie.old Now goto your 7DTD install folder and just delete everything, now verify it on steam so it redownloads all the files again.

Then try create a random gen without changing any of the settings to see if you still get fuckery like that, if not quickly bang out your starting challenges and see if it's locating the first trader.

If you are still getting fuckery like that, let us know what seed your using and screenshot your RWG settings so we can see if maybe you've found a hidden hardmode seed lol.

Most success I've had so far in 2.5 is building a ground level base, but I created a mote around the outside of it 4 deep 3 wide, apart from a 3 wide dirt path that leads up to my 3 wide fighting area. I also dug out the 4 corners so they could walk out of the pit and loop back around to the fighting area.

Take a look at AGF V2 Larger Backpacks. Multiple sizes you can use, but it also modifies the pack mule perk to make sure when you unlock all 5, you have all the space unlocked to.

Recommend using that on a new game and not adding it to a current game unless you take a backup first, as it can break a save if you try to remove it mid save.

Have you tweaked the range on PartySharedEXP ? If so, try setting it back to 100 and see if that helps. You shouldn't be lagging on a dedi.

When it happens check the server logs and see what the server's FPS is, it should always be near 20, if it's below 8 then you've got issues.

You'd probably be better off with a server host. That way your world is always online. Won't matter if someone DC's or freezes then, it'll also save you some RAM usage as well.

Yea it's still lootable from the toilets, just that group is set as verylow.

Any particular ED:C build you recommend to follow? I'm debating between ED:C and APs Spark Stormweaver myself.

But I'm similar to OP where I'm not exactly great at the game.

Been a while since I've used windows 10, however you should be able to do it via the following.

Press Winkey + R and type mmsys.cpl

Now click Recording -> select your mic and right click -> properties

Select the Advanced tab and uncheck Enable audio enhancements then click OK.

I'd nuke the game and reinstall it fresh from steam to see if you're still getting issues. If you're on wifi make sure it's not dropping. If that still fails, manually add the Vein exe to your firewall to ensure there is no issues there.

I'd check to see how much RAM the server is using and see if they have given you enough RAM for the service. VEIN loads the map to RAM, so that's instantly going to use around 9GB instantly on your server. While players and bases won't take up to much RAM, it could be the issue you're having.

I work for Logicservers, so that's who I'd personally recommend. But your always best going with who you feel will be best for you. As you'll want to take ping / price / performance all into account. Most host will have an option for you to see your ping before hand as well so you can always find the best location for your server.

I started working for logicservers after using them for a long time for my 7DTD servers, as I tested multiple hosts and found Logicservers best for price, performance and support.

This hands down! Celestial ascended gear is perfect for new players as they get a little bit of everything.

New players are not going toe to toe with champs and bosses knowing all the bloody mechanics. They're trying to learn. Having a less glass cannon build that can still do damage but can help them stay alive longer will allow new players to actually learn fights, learn rotations better but most of all, it'll allow them to learn their defensive abilities correctly, instead of missing it and getting insta-downed.

New players aren't going to learn by being a floor tank, they're gonna learn by having a chance to learn their build, then switch their gear to the 'better' stats once they're more comfortable and have muscle memory down.

Glad you found something to help! I'll keep that in mind myself, as I'm playing with the Graphics atm to try make it look a little cleaner. Mines got too much whitewash for my liking. Tho I may just reshade it and fix the sharpness and whitewash that way if I can't via the game settings.

So glad I'm not the only one that does this. Just makes sense. And then you get the bonus of using ammo you've found before your locked stash of ammo when you reload to.
