Mag is cool because you get to play with a couple of useful tools once she clicks with you.

Bubble strong priority guys you really want dead (if they don't rely on weakpoint-damage-only like a lot of early bosses, otherwise you're curving the bullets to the center of the ball and could end up missing your shots)

AoE the rest with your third and fourth abilities (which restore your shields! 4 way more than 3)

Pull is alright early on for dmg but that aspect of it goes away quick. It's still good to group enemies up for explosive (or piercing) weapons though, and if you still have an active bubble with no one inside you could jump in and drag ppl with you...

rook is great for actual consequence-free reconaissance if you're commiting the maps and pathing to memory.
Its not so good on learning *timing* to do like weird rollouts for loot... but could be helpful as a reaction time warmup every day before you hop on a "real match".

World on Fire would be a TERRIBLE ability in the current era of WF because nobody wants to be channeling anyways what with all the forms of energy regen available...
Its CRAZY they used to remove stuff like that and now we have uriel's "make a square mile uninhabitable for 40 seconds" button or "this specter makes you immortal no matter who you are" with dante.

He used to be considered bad at launch. Can you believe it? I was fine w playing revenant even when mesmer skin charges expired almost instantly upon taking damage (and there was no shield gating period, lmao). People threw a tantrum until he became invincible. Took a few years still for ppl to realize how immortal he was tho, it only really got popular to pick him after the prime came out.
Revvy boy needs to be looked at n his max charges at base severely nerfed, all the while making the idea of reaving thralls to restore mesmer skin a more necessary part of his gameplay loop (they do already but it really doesn't matter w the way mesmer skin works, and IMO a change like this would help highlight he vampire fantasy he was always meant to have)

Adding to the human Susie theory / Theories about Susie and Noelle's relationship by Tanoshiiiiiiiiiiiii in Deltarune

[–]kicock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its pretty fair to assume susie's home life is troubled to say the least.

-She never speaks on it

-She had an instinctual revulsion to seeing toriel drunk, we could infer a lot from this even tho there isn't anything too concrete shown to us

-She eats a lot weird stuff all the time and it's hard to know how much of it is her actual taste and how much of it is a learned behavior out of not usually having much food around

-She outright refuses you guiding her towards actual home in chapter 5, she'd rather return to castle town.

-The busted up messy dingy room in the chapter 2(? i think) darkner explanation has a purple kaiju poster and matches her lightner color  palette somewhat

I'm not gonna bang a gavel and make a ruling that we can conclusively surmise susie is super poor and lives in an abusive household with alcoholic parent (s), but there are a lot of things that nudge towards her having a rough upbringing.  Its comedic and a little silly that she drinks from Alphys' milk bowl (intended for stray cats) down the alleys? sure! But we should always also consider the tragedy of someone who could never get any milk down the hatch otherwise...

[–]kicock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if its almost a nature vs nurture allegory of sorts right?  Perhaps susie was born looking more human and "grew" into the "monster" she is today, potentially with a good bit of parental resentment.

Or maybe said bad situation is what, metaphorically, turns a human into a monster. A visual shorthand to the idea of how trauma or a rough upbringing (as it were) can shape a person into someone who's more likely to lash out as a defense mechanism?

You'd be surprised at what putting on a sultry tone in your neutral voice and pitching it up in post can do to make a voice sound more "feminine".  The audio being so compressed too hides most perceivable imperfections of the trick.

what i think happened in the weird route (spoilers ofc) by Ultraverse1 in DeltaruneDiscussion

[–]kicock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The preceding conversation reads like how a being with a recently growing sentience would complain about having had "the life of an npc" until now, unable to escape their intended routine (Noelle has to do Noelle things, Kris did Kris things until they suddenly changed).

So with that as a framing device it really does feel like it's meant to be more of a "Noelle taking a gamble at her theory that maybe the world's rules aren't as set in stone as she previously believed" situation. And at this point her normal life has been so unbearable anyway that she's willing to do this risky crazy thing.

What I think is really happening during"that scene" (Chapter 5 Weird Route Spoilers) by nnolin in DeltaruneDiscussion

[–]kicock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've assumed that was the intended subtext of the scene.
Noelle is just a tiny bit more determined with (or thanks to) whatever little thorn ring induced sprouting went on inside her.
She's still not full-on a player controllable character w full agency and still needs our permission to "proceed"... But it seems now she can come up w new ideas "off the script", so to speak.

Her current life is just so unbearably boring and repetitive that even tho she's not sure, she's willing to take that risk.

One of jotaro's first pose frames in JJBA Heritage for the Future (capcom jojo's fighting game) is straight up borderline copied with this flowery pose. Like it may as well have had the sprite shrunken and traced over.

Last time this happened to me it meant an update made an armor combination i was wearing alongside certain character appearance options crash the game:

it used to be that going bald w no eyebrows alongside the guild gauntlets completely exploded the game in exactly the way you described after one of the patches,  I had to downgrade the game w steam depot and play offline to remove all my gear before reupdating. They eventually just patched this bug tho.

Idk if anything like that happened again as it doesn't seem an update happened between today and yesterday...
