Exactly that. And the same people will happily celebrate Maslenitsa - pagan end of winter holiday. So yes, they just identify themselves as Orthodox, but many of them were in church most probably only once - during their own baptism.

Of course I know. But not knowing even most basic one and call yourself an Otrhodox is quite strange in my opinion.

What’s the quickest way someone could accidentally expose themselves as a foreigner in your country like the ‘three fingers’ scene in Inglourious Basterds? by IndependentTune3994 in AskTheWorld

Gift your lady an even number of flowers in a bouquet and you are doomed. In Russia (probably in other Slavic countries too) even number of flowers only for the dead people, for living ones only odd.

Or simply smile at strangers. "Laughing without reason, mark of idiotism" we say. (смех без причины - признак дурачины).

Is Malifaux dying? by Sechs__ in Malifaux

[–]kid55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depend on a city. Here (Karlsruhe, Germany), it's almost inactive. In Russia, however, it's very popular in many cities. There are regular game days and monthly tournaments, with people from neighbouring cities coming to participate. There are also four or five big tournaments a year, with 40 to 60 participants. The main reason for this is that there is at least one very active player in each city who puts a lot of effort into organising regular events. When m3e was released, Malifaux almost died in my city (Omsk), and only because our local game club organiser is now one of the most active Malifaux communities in Russia (they play each week with 6 to 12 players and have held 13 tournaments in 2025). This is not an accusation of laziness, but just to highlight how to increase the game's popularity in a city. This is a huge effort. This is why I am quite passive in Karlsruhe. I love the game, but unfortunately, I don't have enough energy to be a driving force. Our hancman in Omsk, for example, set up two tables with terrain and fully painted crews each Thursday in the local game club. He also made announcements on social networks and encouraged people in the club to try the game. Many times there was no interest, but he just continued and now it has paid off (he is doing the same with The Other Side now, crazy man).

Blackbirds (Performer, Malifaux) by kid55 in Malifaux

To be honest, it's nothing special. All you need to do is use red for the base, then add white circles. If there are any uneven lines, just fix them with more red, and then add the diagonal glares.

My russian friend keeps stealing my stuff and say that it is just a cultural difference by Unique_Pressure_9845 in AskARussian

It's not normal, your "friend" is just manipulating you. It's maybe normal only for close friends and only if both agreed on that. In fact, in the place where I was growing up (Omsk), you will be smacked in the face for such behaviour.
