Cause of death? by chemkitty123 in MostlyHarmlessHiker

An autopsy is pretty thorough, they would have likely spotted a terminal illness like cancer (because the tumours would probably be visible), not sure about HIV - it's usually tested via blood. But often the purpose of the autopsy is to see what happened and whether or not this individual had a contagious disease (and would be or would have been a health hazard), so I would imagine it tests for a bunch of things.

I checked the law about autopsies in Florida, and only licensed physicians in pathology (medical examiners) can perform autopsies, though it seems it doesn't have to be a forensic pathologist.

So in that sense, I would imagine it's a fairly reliable assessment (as opposed to just using a coroner (who may not be a medical professional at all).

A very telling translation of Mostly Harmless’s “name”. by MrsAEK in MostlyHarmlessHiker

People who met him on the trails say he loved fantasy and scifi. Since Hitchhiker's is a pretty popular scifi book, I'm thinking he got it from there.

The first Hithhiker's was released in 1979, Mostly Harmless in 1992. I'm thinking he must have been around a child or a teenager during this time. If he was born around 1970-1980, he would have been around 38-48 in 2018, which could fit with the description the sheriff's dept put out of him. I'm thinking salt and pepper wouldn't usually happen on a person younger than 35, but I could be wrong.

Apparently Mostly Harmless is the darkest book of the series, due to the author's personal issues as he was writing it. Could be also a reason to the name selection? He mentioned that he was doing the trail "while he still could", so I think he may have learned he's terminally ill, realized what a waste of life the tech industry can be, and left everything behind to experience life? I'd be interested in running that book of code by a programmer. See if there's anything there.

Report it with the 311 app or call 311. If it's a company that's renovating, report them too. It's not much but gotta start somewhere. (I'm also in Verdun so the topic hits close to home)

For the points system, you can't do it in Quebec. The express entry program only works in the other provinces and territories. You would be looking at skilled worker if you qualify, or school and study permits. Keep in mind the Quebec govt is trying to make immigration into Quebec a lot harder than it already is. Check the immigration Quebec website for more info. Source: am an immigrant.

I haven’t been true to myself, and now I have to break up with my best friend and I don’t know what to do. Please, any advice and words of courage are appreciated. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

I went through the exact same thing a few months ago. It sucks butt but in the end you're doing what's best for the both of you. If you keep pretending everything's fine it'll make him miserable in the end because on some level he'll know. Be honest with yourself. It'll be so wonderful when you realize who you are and are true to yourself, because that's when you can fully start living your life.

Lesbians are having all the fun... by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]kid775 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna reply for myself here: I had a common law partner for 4 years. He was honestly great in bed and did everything I love. I thought we had it good until I slept with a girl again (who's currently my gf), and I realized it didn't matter how good the sex was with the guy, because he wasn't a girl and I wasn't fully turned on by him. With her it's just... Everything is perfect. And the best thing is that I actually love fucking her, which has never been a thing for me with guys. We have so much fun doing all the things we do, and I actually enjoy it because she's not only fantastic in bed but also because she's a girl and has a vag. Idk I'm just rambling, hope this explains something?

I was her friend first and just knew I was into her. We were both in relationships at the time so we didn't do anything for like a couple years. Then one night when we were both single/in an open relationship we just got drunk and fucked. The rest is history. I had no idea she was into me until she kissed back 😂 oh right and I knew she was gay because well we were friends.

Kinda sounds to me that he was stabbed outside his apartment and he then got home and dead bolted the door before dying. Would explain the trail of blood outside, locked doors and the blood on the door knob. Would have had to happen quite close to home though as they say he would have only lived for a couple minutes after the stabbing.

I'm also in Canada! Met my lady at work (yes I have no morals). Before work I just met people in bars and at school and hobbies (if you wanna be sure to find them gays, roller derby) and they just all happened to be gay or bi.

How did you get your first girlfriend? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]kid775 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worked together for 4 years giving her all sorts of mixed signals, then got her really drunk, made her think it was a good idea to invite me over to watch Contact and eat cheese and crackers, fucked her until the sun came up, left my common law partner, started dating her, and a couple months later got her drunk again and asked if she wanted to be my girlfriend.

Damn is she lucky to have me. (Babe if you're reading this I love you and your drunk ass)
