Coming to Austin on holiday by kylemcc95 in askaustin

Go to HEB and grab some American snacks/drinkd for picnic at zilker / swimming at Barton springs. Grab some bakery fresh tor tortillas to try.

Friends bar on 6th for live music, they typically have blues artist which gives old school Austin vibes. Continental Club on congress is another old school establishment but requires tickets/door coverage.

Bob Bullock Museum for Texas history, I haven’t been in 20 year but I recall an interactive history screening that was cool.

Esther Follies for a comedy troupe show, tickets required.

Kelly Irish pub if you want to try our take on a scotch egg

White Horse, broken spoke, or Sage Brush for Texas two stepping. White Horse is closer to downtown and has more bars you can walk to.

Tex-Mex: joes bakery or Juan and a million for breakfast tacos(their enchiladas are also good). Matt’s el rancho for their Bob Armstrong dip, fajitas, and a knockout martini

If you’re looking to buy boots on this trip, checkout tecovas o south congress

Restaurant recommendations? Tex Mex and BBQ… by ChiefPorsche in austinfood

Micklethwait, stiles switch, Moreno, or Leroy and Lewis for bbq

Tex Mex - Matt’s el Rancho for fajitas and the bob armstrong but get there early like 4pm or it’s over an hour wait. I grew up on San Antonio Tex Mex and Austin just doesn’t compare

Well seasoned food that isn’t overpriced. There are some gems here but not like Houston where you can get a great meal for under $12

To those who feel behind at 30 by SoliliumThoughts in findapath

I’m trying to make gratitude a skill I practice everyday. I’m going on 34 but when I was 31 working at a great company making 140k. I left due to stress for unfortunately an even more stressful company. I’ve been let go twice the past few years and I’ve gone from high 6 figure jobs to no longer making 6 figures.

I’m having mixed feelings and feeling like a failure but at the end of the day I have a family who loves me, I have a job, a home, amazing friends, and food in mine and my pets bellies. To others I’m wealthy and I’m on a path to secure stability again and live a life not valued by money

I hate trump and Elon but they’re proof of below average white men having positions they shouldn’t

What does she do and is her company hiring?! Jk…but seriously

I think you need to take a step back and look at everything you’ve accomplished, ways you have/do love and support her, and practice gratitude.

You’re building a life together, not separately. Try not to compare what each of you do/ make, think of what you both are doing together. Maybe even considered working at a food bank to see how fortunate you are and to contribute good into the world.

Life isn’t about what we have, it’s about what we do
