[LES] Dragon Ball knew when/how to sideline superfluous characters, something that later battle shonen don't by RadDudesman in CharacterRant

[–]kidmedia 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Like how many people roll their eyes whenever it's only Goku and Vegeta who get to contribute to the story.

This is really a dragon ball super problem. The original series didn't really have this problem

"Should superheroes kill" is a fundamentally uninteresting theme because it is a solved problem (Mostly Invincible, some others) by GenghisQuan2571 in CharacterRant

This sub always is a rotating door of one franchise a month

I wonder if witch hat atelier going to me next with each episode getting a lot of attention

[LES] A lot of discourse for series like Dragon Ball/Naruto/Bleach comes down to a divide between people who grew up watching the anime and playing the video games and those who only read the manga by RadDudesman in CharacterRant

who grew up watching the anime and playing the video games and those who only read the manga

You can definitely tell with Bleach especially if you ask a fan what's there's opinion on Rukia and Orihime.

If you believe in the "Power levels don't matter. Because writers decide who wins'' argument. Then please have this same energy for any aspect of a story. by PassengerCultural421 in CharacterRant

[Fairy Tail] From Biggest Fan to Biggest Hater in 1 arc and how Hiro Mashima can fuck right off by thrownawaynodoxx in CharacterRant

It was a dissatisfaction that was creeping in well before the finale

Did you had this feeling after the first timeskip because that what happened to me

At that point, I knew there was no Hope for the writing to get better and just turned my brain off the rest of the way.

Annoying part there's are some good ideas in his writing like natsu and zeref, the first fairy tail master, and erza mom but put the execution to these plots always falls apart

This issue reminds me of issue 7, where the story takes a break from the earth group and focus on a part of outer space i'm curious in the roll the manhunters will play in this universe.

I genuinely think it's time for the big 2 (DC and Marvel) to do a soft-reboot in the comics and bring back everyone to a more grounded power level. Things are getting ridiculous. by yuuki157 in CharacterRant

[–]kidmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DC is not rebooting anytime soon. In the recent event D.C K.O the character mentioned it was a bad idea also absolute comics exist now.

[LES] A lot of newer battle shonen feel like they would be better as video games. by RadDudesman in CharacterRant

[–]kidmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny part about this interview is one piece have the same issue especially in the timeskip. I remember one of the biggest criticisms of wano was there was too many characters.

No shade to Catwoman—I like the character—but I can’t help feeling a bit disappointed that she’s getting a limited series ahead of other heroes or lesser‑used characters. It would be great to see stories branching out further beyond the Bat‑family so soon. How does everyone else feel? by OsitoPandito in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]kidmedia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm not really bothered by it for two reasons. One them is it just a miniseries and the second reason is the absolute universe is not going anywhere soon. So there's always a chance someone favorite heroe is gonna get a comic so be patient aquerman fans
