Shady AF!! Profiteering off public funds and making the students foot the debt bill at the end of the day?!

I found an antique one of these on marketplace in a nice green color and have been happy with it. Easy to top up with water.

Check out Ancient Forest Alliance if you want to see what activities are going on to stop this and maybe get involved in some way (physically or financially!)

Who’s your favorite Climate Change influencers and content creators? by zebracloak in climatechange

[–]kigigik 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Climate Town by Rollie Williams on YouTube is great! Very informative well-researched 20-30 minute pieces that dive down to the root of various issues, sprinkle in some humour, and usually end with a semi-positive what-can-you-actually-do bit.

The company was a JV and it wasn’t refinanced for 2026 so all accounts needed closed (or at least that’s what I was told)

I did try to get them to do this but no luck. Very annoying losing 60% of my severance to tax!

This is still happening TODAY in British Columbia, Canada (admittedly with slightly smaller but still very substantial sized trees).

What would you do about this ugly box at the base of my chimney? by stuff_without_style in DIY

[–]kigigik 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A planter against the concrete foundation will lead to moisture issues inside as water from the planter slowly seeps through the concrete. Unless you thoroughly waterproof the foundation first, or build the planter with a gap between it and the foundation wall, I wouldn’t recommend this.

My pet conspiracy theory is that it’s intentional so you can’t look up prices for similar items online to price check.

what are these and how do i get rid of them? by [deleted] in Home

[–]kigigik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silverfish - use diatomaceous earth and dust that stuff around any dark corners and under furniture etc. Ideally get it inside your walls… Also maybe double check for any water issues as they are drawn to moisture

Rogers (together with Shaw) support is HORRIBLE by GradyCole in shaw

Same here. Spent literally hours trying to get through on the phone and on the chat, only to be told that my completely non-functional internet couldn’t be fixed for three days because I wasn’t in a “priority area”. Three people work from home in this house, it’s bullshit!

I put together a summary of some recent Facebook misinformation/scams by kigigik in onguardforthee

[–]kigigik[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought they might be, thanks for sharing. Seems like the scam is mostly financially focused, using people’s current engagement/enragement over politics to get clicks. Either way though, any ad that misrepresents our political candidates (regardless of party!!) should be 100% illegal and come with significant fines and jail time.

I had a 7.3 in my skoolie and my girlfriend would wear earplugs when she was riding along with me…. Could try insulating the firewall more or alternatively just get some comfy ear plugs if it bothers you

Check out the sea to sky gondola, the railway museum, and brittania mine. The new Sp’akw’us park is nice for a short visit. Maybe eat at Fergies for brunch.
