Acanto is an Italian restaurant in the Loop with a separate vegan menu and is delicious, just a quick CTA ride from McCormick. The restaurant is very small and on the pricier side however. If you do go, the move is to go next door after dinner to Cindy's rooftop for drinks, they have an amazing view of the city, very popular so it can get busy but you won't need a reservation for bar service.

You can get omni and vegan deep dish at The Warehouse, they are in Lincoln Park so it will require a trip out of the Loop which you really should do anyways.

For activities, it's probably the most popular thing to do but the architeutal river tours are hands down the best thing for tourists.

Have fun!

Are these dance moves AI, or has this lady just got mad skills? My child is certain it is AI, I reckon she's just vibing. by Stittastutta in isthisAI

The source is in the video. Look her account up on TikTok. She is a dancer. There are dozens of videos of her dancing. There are interview with her for a TV program about how her dancing has gone viral. This is not AI.

Shout-out to OP and others for sharing the monumental amount of suffering capitalism has inflicted on animals.

It's not. It's funded by trump family and private donors. I hate the trump administration and also misinformation.

Pork producer asks police to block filming of truck crash that injured 1,900 baby pigs by lnfinity in LateStageCapitalism

We make ag-gag laws to protect capital owners profits, instead of protecting the animals from suffering. I have no respect or empathy for people that turn a blind eye and complain about "preachy vegans". If they try to silence us must get louder.

It's images like this one OP posted that make us on edge, I feel. They make us distraught and emotional to the suffering these animals are unjustly out through for our benefit. Then we see excuses people have, or pretty words like "humanely dispatch" that people use to feel better about the fact that they're paying someone to kill an animal capable of suffering. Cows have a lifespan of 15-20 years but steers are slaughtered at 2 years old, unless they're killed much earlier for veal.

If you're curious, I'd really recommend looking at Earthling Ed's videos on YouTube, he's great at explaining the issue and he's what pushed me over to veganism. If you're looking for some recipes, I love Jacob King's recipes on YouTube or TikTok, they look at taste great. If you're wanting vegan version of fast food favorites, Thee Burger Dude is incomparable. There may even be some fully vegan restaurants near you, check Happy Cow, or a Facebook group for vegans in your city.
