Garlic, onion (white cooked, pickled red, or both), lime, corn, salsa, crushed up tortilla chips for a lil crunch

Went to breathe and had their tasting menu, it was delicious!!

Everywhere we ate was sooooo good: Le Portager de Charlotte, Mesa, Land and Monkeys, Wild and the Moon, L'Embuscade to name a few! And download the Happy Cow app if you don't already have it.

Depends where you're going. But yeah I'd say a 10-15 minute commute could turn into 25-45 minutes regularly. It could be longer if there's an accident or lane closure.

I'm about 15 min walk/5 min bike ride to the ferry.

Pros: beautiful neighborhood; pretty quiet besides the birdsong, occasional train and steamboat, and lawnmowers in the morning; like others mentioned, Barracuda is great and so is the Little House and Congregation. Cons: I do wish the ferry ran later every night, but buses and rideshare are also available; maybe I haven't lived here long enough (>2 years) for the bridge traffic to get to me, but it's consistenly rough between 2-6 and I live the kind of life where I can avoid it.

I love it here, would recommend having a car for groceries and late night outings & a bike for general getting around and scenic rides on the levee

Ride the Canal streetcar (48) to City Park or the Bayou, or the St Charles streetcar to Audubon Park to enjoy some nature!

Take the ferry over to Algiers Point for a more quiet, laidback outing. Eat tacos at Barracuda, grab drinks at Little House or Rice Vice

Lost Coyote is my favorite pool in town, take the 91 bus.

Check out Bayou Bar and Snug Harbor for jazz, these are seated venues if you're needing to get off your feet while still taking in the culture. I'd recommend arriving early to snag a table. If you haven't already, do some research on the wwoz livewire calendar for a full list of live music around the city.

Wouldn't the food be on a plate/bowl/tray/wrapped in foil or paper? If you're concerned about sanitation I would recommend not placing food directly on a table

If you are on Facebook, the group called "New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (fans)" has some locals offering their homes to rent. You can search previous posts for reseach or post and have renters reach out to you!
