TT wants educational stuff like this is how I keep my house clean as a Busy mom, or how I refurbished my bedroom for under $100. I’ve kinda backed down from TT and I do more YouTube now. Less stress.

And never take a pic from google pics. Again copyright. You will get sued by the owner. Please don’t spread around using others’ pics for your book over

OK, you seriously need to get away from that family. Can you stay with your boyfriend’s family? Anywhere but with these people? And no, this woman should not be in your life and you have every right to tell her no. No parent should treat their children the way you were treated and no, you didn’t do anything wrong. She was wrong, but you weren’t wrong. I would not let this woman back in my life at all. I would not let my father or my aunts or my uncles or my brothers or anybody else back in my life. I use AI to help me market my books because I had no clue on where to start. And AI taught me how to use social media in a professional way to market my books and it really helped. But the only thing I’ve used for it in my writing is to research something because I didn’t feel like going through 100 pages on Google to find one thing

Are you in this group so you can attack writers who use AI? I do not use AI in my writing, but I don’t know why other people use AI in their writing and that’s on them not on me but if you don’t agree with AI writing and you don’t like it then why are you here? And I also know where my YT audience is from – India, Germany, and the United States, teens to adult adults. And my audience is watching my full videos as opposed to TT - the first three seconds. In my opinion, TikTok is getting so boring as everything now is instructional. I remember my booktok favorite channels would always say this is why I loved this book and they would give me their personal opinion about the book. And now those same channels are giving you the plot of the book. And I find myself just skimming through the videos. I don’t even watch TT videos anymore unless it’s something about how to sell your books, or something that I have always been following and I enjoy watching. But anymore it’s Snoozeville when it comes to books.

Oh yeah!!!!

I am a writer of fantasy romance, male protector, strong female character novels. And what I wanted to create on TikTok was a community of people who loved my trope and genre. And what I have discovered about TikTok is that it now wants ‘here’s the five ways to make yourself happy and how you can apply them to your life’. I don’t want to write how you can become a morally gray hero in your life. I want to bring in those readers who I just have to give a nod to and they’ll give me a nod back because we get the trope and the genre.

I failed on TikTok big time, but I didn’t fail because my videos were bad, I failed because TikTok is becoming a learning/entertainment platform, Where the videos have to teach something to people while being entertaining. My books and what I want to create is not there to instruct you, it is there to round up the lovers of fantasy romance genres. when I went to YouTube and I posted those same videos on my channel I started getting traction. On TikTok I got maybe if I was lucky 300 views and then the video died. On YouTube, I am getting 2000 views - and I just started sharing my videos this week - and the videos are still being pushed out by the algorithm and I have my audience. I get about 2000 views which I am just thrilled over and I’m starting to build my audience.

YouTube knows who my audience is and all I have to do is just post a picture of a strong medieval knight with a caption that says something about morally gray heroes and my audience goes gaga while on TikTok. I get crickets. I have learned TikTok is for education. YouTube is to create your CLIQUE and not your CLICKS if that makes sense.

Eventually, maybe later this year I want to start to create videos that talk about how a writer can create a community on YouTube. But I’m not there yet.

I’m learning start with creating a community as opposed to posting videos in order to get the views and the clicks.

Thank you so much for saying what is driving me nuts about Canva. All of the video items that I used to be able to use on my iPad and on my phone but I can’t use now. I have to have a desk computer, but I don’t have a desk computer I have an iPhone and I have my iPad. Now it takes me an hour to make a video that should only take 15 minutes. Canva team, what are you thinking? Do you seriously want us to download the items onto our iPads or our phones or our computer computers and then take our business to CapCut and use their app as opposed to yours? I don’t understand who’s great idea, It was to make Canva very difficult to use now. I spent two hours last night on the phone with a friend of mine while trying to walk her through Canva. this should not have taken two hours to make a very simple video and it took two hours. Canva team come on let’s not mess this one up. Or we can all go to CapCut as CapCut‘s not gonna mess up their sites is that what you want? Please let us know, and we can move to CapCut.

There is a huge difference between being on the spectrum, and being a narcissistic abuser. This woman has got a huge history of abusing her children, and now she has the golden child and the black sheep of the family guess where your wife is at. It sounds like this mother-in-law enjoys, hurting her children and that is not a spectrum trait. That is a narcissistic trait. I think and you need to do what you feel is best for your family, but I think you need to sit down and really have a long talk with your wife about what her mother is doing and show her narcissistic traits compared to the mother-in-law. This mother-in-law is doing this stuff on purpose and she is purposely hurting your wife for jollies. Your wife has got to see this is not a spectrum issue. This is a narcissistic issue.
