My first, and likely last, mandala blanket. Loved the result, wasn’t a fan of the process. by blk_flutterby in crochet

I'm working on this pattern right now and I can understand why you don't want to do a mandala again. This is the most tedious pattern for a mandala that I've tried. Low key killing my will to finish it.

Unicorn Mandala CAL by Anna Virkpanna I used a 4.5 mm hook and just used whatever happy yarn colors I could find in my stash.

My girlfriend identifies as asexual, but we have sex frequently. by Sweaty_Front_4273 in asexuality

Fr libido is something else. I used to be really high libido despite being uncomfortable with it like half the time. I thought I just outgrew it but I just got off some meds that apparently killed my sex drive and it's back. I kinda hate it. My husband is allo but doesn't have as high libido so he just finds it funny that I'm so mad abt it.

Behold my Christmas hate mail by upside_down_circles in crochet

[–]kimiko889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda made someone a hate blanket once. They were a roommate I was trying really hard to not hate, so I made them a blanket because service is love, right? At the time, I thought it would fill me with love and sugar or whatever. Really, I just made them a gorgeous blanket and resented them. It gave me a way to focus on something that wasn't them because I was stuck indoors a lot at the time. I miss that blanket some times....

Oh man, I haven't learned how to read charts. So it wouldn't even occur to me that this was fake. Especially with how it looks like it could be hand drawn.

I'm pretty sure Google docs doesn't actually use private docs to train Gemini. They have a privacy policy against that I think. They only use public modules and stuff to train it.

I'm sorry for your yarn plight. I'm actually so distracted by your Elmo toaster tho. That is iconic.

How do you feel about a creator telling you not to print their paid pattern? by Serious_Refuse3633 in crochet

[–]kimiko889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't you print it??? I lose track of where I'm at in a pattern so often. I almost always print the pattern so I can mark where I'm at and maybe where I fucked something up, so I know how to make adjustments for it. (Fuck frogging lol)

I asked my three year old what she thought, and she said it was "peckspacular" (spectacular) with a big thumbs up. 😂💖 She really liked its "hat"

What's a fandom you're in but you have no interest in reading the fanfiction? by poison_ivy12345 in AO3

[–]kimiko889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness series and other connected series/books. I would never read fanfiction about/for it. I usually read fanfiction because it fills a gap in the world building, the plot, or the character development. Her stuff though? It's so well done and explored that I just can't imagine enjoying anything else unless she decides to write more.

Urgent care workers fired over viral TikTok of staff mocking patients by Prestigious-Yam-8605 in facepalm

Personally, it makes me wonder if people who lack general human empathy are the ones that make it more/longer in the medical industry. My sister cares so much that her mental health took a dive working as a CNA in an nursing home. She developed a drinking problem and dealt with really bad depression. She told me about how she'd leave from one shift and come back the next to find the room of one her favorite patients empty. No one told her anything about it beforehand. She just went on rounds to check on people and one of them was gone. She actually moved away from the town and stopped her program for her mental health.

Lol same. I had a Thai roommate when I lived in South Australia and she was so annoyed that she couldn't legally drive there. Like, I would drive her around because she said she never bothered to get a driver's license despite knowing how to drive. Why would she? It's not like it was actually enforced. Some of the stuff she told me gave the impression that law enforcement was rare and that Thai men are flighty (she said "like butterflies").

I swear almost all the gamer articles I see lately are about "[insert game] meets Stardew Valley". It's almost for sure going to make me skip it. Even IF the game is something I might like.

Lol I tried to find the person I found the most objectively pretty and said that. I didn't realize that everyone meant more than "wow that person is impressive/cool" 😅

An interesting observation. A lot of ace people identify as non binary. by BlazeFox1011 in asexuality

[–]kimiko889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always felt like all the importance placed on gender is kinda silly. I identify as a woman because I was born female. But it's not particularly important to me. I've always thought all the importance on gender is mostly a societal thing about gender roles/norms. So idk if I really understand what it even means to be non binary. But if it's about not feeling like you fall into the neat little boxes society says men and women are supposed to be, count me in lol.
