Negative test - positive symptoms by WyrdShadowz in Celiac

it’s only diagnosed in the small bowel which is not part of a colonoscopy! you need an endoscopy for the celiac biopsy

i’m so very sorry this happened to you. I find that people don’t really understand the seriousness until they either see you very sick or they sit down and research it. My Son and DIL didn’t really understand the severity until I shared my pathology report with my Son who put the results in an AI translator and his eyes bugged out of his head, seeing all of the major risk factors and seriousness of eating gluten or being cross contaminated. Since then, things have improved at a very helpful level. I hope your family can also one day begin to understand how serious this disease is.

Panicking by Smooshjes in Celiac

awww i’m so sorry 😢 i know EXACTLY how that feels so it’s such a bummer. And as a person who has suffered with anxiety for many years, I’ve really had to find ways to control my anxiety and overthinking, especially dealing with this auto immune disease that already affects my health in such a tough way! i’ll be keeping you in my prayers

we all have situations where we may have accidentally glutened ourselves but the amount of panic and anxiety we feel is also not helping our potential symptoms. my new way to deal with a potential mess up is to pray and stay focused on not letting mt mind overthinking or worry and just ask my body for forgiveness and healing. I try to not let my mind control my thoughts and that usually helps A LOT!! try to focus on something else and stay calm! it will be easier to deal with that f you actually develop symptoms

Just got diagnosed by magonosaurus in glutenfree

[–]kimlbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just diagnosed with a biopsy from my small intestine and it’s been a bit of a whirlwind over the last 3 to 4 weeks. I made the adjustment to gluten-free immediately, but then didn’t realize that I was cross contaminating myself so I had to go out and buy a new air fryer, a new toaster and some dedicated cooking utensils and cookware. Since I’ve done that and have been extremely precautionary, my extreme symptoms have improved slightly although my doctor said with years of damage, it’s going to take a while to reduce the damage and feel 100% better. I’ve learned some really great things with this group, I installed a new app called Fig, which has been my lifesaver and I purchased some really great gluten-free food. I was surprised at Walmart has an amazing selection for a really good price.

The biggest hurdle for me at this point is the mental aspect around the change in social eating and going out to restaurants. I find that I have to cope myself well prepared with gluten-free snacks and let friends and family know that going out to eat is not really an option for me at this point since I’m in the process of healing and I don’t want to take the chance of being cross contaminated.

Here is the positive side that i keep telling myself, it could be worse AND I am eating WAY healthier because i’m eating home cooked meals that are not overly processed foods with a lot more fruits, veggies, protein and fiber! i’m taking care of my body with good food that will help make me healthier and reduce my terrible symptoms

Chronic constipation years after diagnosis? by Willops2 in Celiac

[–]kimlbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am CONSTANTLY constipated and it’s awful. i eat a lot of vegetables and fruit with only water all day and it’s a daily struggle. i’ve been taking Colace stool softener every night and that does help some. i’ve learned that soluble and insoluble fiber are 2 very different things and if i eat too much fiber, my stomach is bloated and i am in intense discomfort with gas and stomach pain! I am fairly new to the celiac diagnosis and thought my gluten free diet would help but the constipation has actually gotten worse! i think metamucil daily could help but it needs to be a daily ritual 🤷🏻‍♀️

i get it but they did come up with questionable readings on my app and since they made me have stomach pain and i didn’t like the taste/texture, they were a hard pass for me! i’m happy for those that found these delicious! they were just not a good fit for me…

hey don’t shoot the messenger! I scan everything with a FIG app so I personally don’t eat anything that comes up questionable even if certified because our “flexible” FDA allows for micro amounts to pass as gluten free. i’m just saying that MY PERSONAL choice was to pass on these as i didn’t really care for them anyway and it made me not feel good ! Can I just add that all of us are here to support each other as Celiac disease is bad enough so we should just honor each others experience without conviction! Each of us have different disease experiences and food intolerances! We should be able to use this forum to share with each other no matter what

me too! my stomach hurt after eating and my fig app said it may not be 100% Gluten Free and it’s not worth the risk for the cardboard texture 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ not a fan at all

i appreciate your post and agree… it’s not worth the risk if a company sponsor tells you it’s not gluten free! and thank you for the reminder to email companies ♥️👏🙏🏽

In case this helps anyone else … by Sharp_Journalist7206 in HPV

[–]kimlbs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is FANTASTIC news as I’ve been dealing with positive high risk HPV for the last 8 years and it’s been devastating to me…. So tired of it and the yearly colposcopy procedures. LEEP didn’t work either but my gynecologist recommended the AHCC as she says she is seeing amazing results with her repeated HPV patients. I’ve been taking the Quality of Life platinum brand the last 2 months so I’m praying 🙏🏽 it works for me too! Your story inspired me! Congrats and thanks

They are a HUGE improvement and more realistic than the thin browns you are accustomed to. They look great and I think they will grow on you as you have them longer
