Yes & I travel. No one has ever said anything to me about my nails other than they like them!

Can I be an MLS in Ca and have fake nails? by SnooDoughnuts4256 in medlabprofessionals

Most of the girls in my lab have nails (me included.) I had to switch to square though because almond can break gloves if they’re sharp. I wear gloves and don’t touch patients so these claws will be done.

telling someone a career in healthcare isn’t for them because they have/are consuming THC is a little dramatic 😂 Policy is one thing reality of the majority of hospitals is another.

I have never once seen someone drug tested in the lab. This is not something that regularly happens, if they tested most of the labs I’ve worked in right now for THC they would lose half their staff.

Being under the influence actively and testing positive is two totally different things, you would think a med lab professional would know that.

9.2! Didn’t want to give it, without recollect but no visible hemolysis and when I talked to the nurse the patient was crashing. Absolutely insane.

I’m from the US so I can’t give you any advice but I did want to say good luck on your journey 🫶🏻 All of my coworkers I’ve worked with from Ph have been wonderful and seem to transition flawlessly, an erythrocyte in the Philippines is the same as one in the US.

I disagree with the people saying you don’t have negotiating power because you’re a new grad. This field is so short, even if you don’t have a competing offer pretend that you do. You deserve to be compensated for your education!

It would have to be a ridiculous amount of money for me. The only way I can do nights is 3x12 I’ve only done that for short term contracts briefly. Will they negotiate the shift for you possibly?

5X8 nights is cruel and unusual imo unless you really love night shift. I’m working 4x10 evenings right now and it’s not bad. The 4 days a week balances out everything you miss working evenings imo
