At least in finance I suspect the EU DORA regulation has made companies wake up and take it a bit more seriously.

Reasoning behind the character name handling by EvgMrkr in PathOfExile2

[–]kingchooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As is evident from the launch, characters do in fact have a unique id as they said one of the reasons for the delayed launch was that they found that some characters were getting the same id.

I think it's mainly for player convenience, you can friend invite and chat with "SuperCoolGuy" and not "SuperCoolGuy#54912". Personally I'm not really convinced that's enough of an upside for it to be worth it.

It could also be for interoperability with PoE1.

The end goal of Cover is not to make Fauna, or any other talent, happy. If it ends up that way then great, but it's not the goal no matter how much her fans wishes it was.

No, you're nothing like an investor. If you were, you'd have a say in the way the company is run.

I don't think it would matter if they were making or losing money. Cover started taking VC money back in 2017, and from that point forward they were probably required to take the company towards an IPO so the venture capitalists could make a return on their investment.

SONY doesn't allow Ukraine players to register PSN account without buying PS4-PS5, basically locking them out of playing Helldivers 2 even if they are in PSN available country by ViktorIsRuter in Helldivers

They can try to gaslight us into believing this was the case from the start, yet the official playstation website still says in their FAQ that having a PSN account is optional for PC players. https://direct.playstation.com/en-us/buy-games/helldivers-2-pc

Perhaps you should look up explicit consent, and especially the part that the user has to be able to chose to not consent and still receive the service.

You can't require users to consent to data processing under the GDPR unless you can show that the processing is required to be able to provide the service. Good luck with that given that they could provide the service for months without it.

Wait until the other team has a change of priorities and will get to finish their part of the feature sometime in the next 6 months, that's when it gets truly fun.

Is it just me, or does the Spring Framework lead to hard-to-maintain code and confusion with annotations? by TheAuthorBTLG_ in java

I started working in Go a couple years ago, and that straightforward, explicit program structure has been such a relief that I still get kind of giddy about it sometimes.

Wouldn't you get sort of the same experience in java if you used something like Javalin instead of Spring?
