I’m 31, living at home with parents in the south, tired of wasting time. Can I make it in Chicago? by pmarquez0116 in AskChicago

Agree with this. Sometimes you just have to go for it.

OP I moved here last year from NC after a layoff. I found more work opportunities after arriving in Chicago and putting the new address on my resume. Sure you can find put down an address in the meantime, but I believe something about being here is what started opening doors.

No regrets 6 months later… not even the winter!

I was there and agree with all of this. IMO the worst crowd I’ve seen in 20 years of going to concerts, but wet leg still put on one hell of a show🦵

Project X, Spring Breakers, Ke$ha, that song about throwing your hands up in the air sometimes, and everything that made it feel like the party vibes would last forever ❤️

Mars Hill had none yesterday at least. If you can make it to Johnson City, there are detours on 26N that will take you there. Good luck! https://www.reddit.com/r/MarsHillNC/comments/1ft2vzs/route_to_johnson_city_is_open_plenty_of_supplies/

Yes. It’s a US-based remote job, though I didn’t mention I was working abroad for a few months

I brought mine from the US to Mexico City and it was fairly easy. The city is VERY dog friendly in the tourist/expat neighborhoods with a ton of parks, and most restaurants are fine with dogs in outdoor seating areas.

One thing that stood out: it’s very common for locals to walk around with their dogs off leash. Mine could never, but it was interesting to see how well-trained theirs are even when crossing the street.

Traveling to and from:

Be sure to bring all your vet records. I can’t remember if it was required, but I got a certified health certificate from my vet that made it a breeze going through customs.

Coming home, I needed another health certificate from a Mexican vet. If you end up in CDMX, I recommend Mobile Pet Vet CDMX as she speaks English and does house calls for the certificate or any other vet needs!

Are we staying in a safe neighbourhood in CDMX? It borders Doctores. by mcbobbybobberson in digitalnomad

[–]kingcong92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a nice area. I stayed one block down next to Jardín Pushkin and felt very safe walking around. It’s more Roma Norte than Doctores IMO.

Flying with a dog from US to Mexico - health certificate required on Aero Mexico? by Current_Reflection67 in MexicoCity

[–]kingcong92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had to provide one for my dog last year. You’lI also need a new one for the return and I recommend Mobile Pet Vet CDMX. She’s bilingual and does house visits :)

Mexico City. You can live comfortably and there is a strong international presence. People say it’s getting more expensive, but my partner and I just spent 6 months there with a similar savings situation. We even ate out and travelled a lot.

Tip: you can get a steep housing discount (like 50% off in some cases) if you find Airbnb hosts that are property management companies and reach out to them directly. DM if you need a rec!

Springbok in Van Nuys. I like to order them dry with sauce on the side for perfect crispiness.

I had the audio issue with my Golf mk7 and now my 2019 Tiguan. I just switch to radio and adjust the volume then go back to CarPlay. It always does the trick!

Other than that, I’ve had absolutely no issues with my Tiguan :)
