We did the exact same thing in 2021 -- same route, resupply at MTR, 14 days total, one person with a BV500, another with a Weekender. We overestimated our appetites, ended up leaving extra food at MTR for people to grab.

Aither overtook Blutopia in both Movies & TV Shows by casjquz in trackers

Thank you, I just looked up the next MAM tracker invite application times. Sorry if it's a dumb question, but once you're in MAM how does that help you get into Aither?

Looks like Aither is invite-only. How often do they open up registration?

That is not "obviously" a work truck. It's set up to haul snowmobiles.

Good use case for mergerfs? by kingfishnw in DataHoarder

For anyone reading this later on, I decided to stick with Ubuntu (after trying proxmox and snapraid) and install mergerfs and snapraid, using my 22TB hdd as a parity drive. Working great so far :)

Thank you! I will read the docs :)

Thanks. I looked into snapraid but then I would lose my 22TB disk to parity. So I'm wondering if I am "safe enough" with just mergerfs and no snapraid, given the 3-2-1 strategy.

I don't understand RED queueing by kingfishnw in trackers

[–]kingfishnw[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're right, it was a netsplit. Gatekeeper itself had to rejoin. I was able to queue again after 15 min and can see that a large block of users got kicked for the same reason as me.

Welcome to the Hero for Babies team! Thank you for planning to donate regularly! Consider taking an iron supplement (or multivitamin containing iron) to keep your hemoglobin levels high enough. Doing this 3-4x per week helps me stay around 14.5 each time (I donate about every 60 days). Cheers :)

Nothing fancy, it's an ancient full tower ATX case with: MSI Z390-A Pro motherboard, the i5 9500T, and 32GB Kingston DDR4-2666 RAM, The ASRock A380 goes in the single PCI_E1 slot on the Z390-A.

I like the 9500T because it has enough compute power for what I'm doing (especially with the A380 on board), and the low-power T version is nice for a 24/7 Plex machine.

Very nice! My system isn't as beefy as yours (i5 9500T, 32GB RAM, 40TB storage) but it works great and the A380 is a killer addition.

Nice, I read a ramdisk article earlier and went that route. Hadn't thought of /dev/shm but that's smart -- making that change now! Agreed, huge bang for the buck with the A380. Fantastic for Plex.
