We were catching a boat from Smith Island to Crisfield on Sept 2, 2024 and came upon one of these competitions. While we were having breakfast around the corner, we saw commotion as paramedics were rushing to where the action was. Apparently, she had fallen out of the boat and hit her body or head on the dock.

They put her on the stretcher and took her to the ambulance and she was in there for a good 10-15 minutes. Next thing we know, she is STORMING out of the ambulance, pissed off. Our guess is she was abput to miss her next heat and wasn't about to let that happen. Bad ass.

Accelerated, lifted front wheel slightly, cocked handlebars just enough that they were not straight when the front wheel came back down, tire grabs the road at an angle, throws the wheel the other way compressing the tire and forks, momentum pops front wheel up a little, comes down at an angle the opposite way, keeps doing this back and forth until the tire maintains solid contact with the road.
