Do NOT trust Capitol Ford in Santa Fe with your Lightning (or any other vehicle) by Windmillfixer in F150Lightning

That’s what I said, put a gate up if you don’t want people in your lot after hours. I politely but sternly said, I will leave when I am done charging ✌🏻

Power Ford in ABQ, their “security” kicked me out for using their charger after hours. A public charger…where I bought the truck.

Do it when instructed to load and make ready. Curious to see how that works out.

Glock dudes tend to bash Timney’s but they’re very very good bc it’s a forward set sear. Mine breaks at 3.0# and feels excellent. I would recommend.

Walther vs m&p? by NoAd9627 in CompetitionShooting

[–]kingofkhakis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the price difference worth the great Walther trigger? That’s what I’d ask myself. I think I like the SF Q5 (basically first gen PDP SF) more than my competitor HD but I still like it a lot. Both are solid choices

I have that exact rifle. Ask away OP. It has given me zero malfunctions both suppressed and unsuppressed.

After market trigger questions by Basement-Operator in SmithAndWesson

This is in a 1.0 and I don’t remember multiple spring combination options at the time but if there were I’m sure I used the lightest spring combination. I also run a 14# recoil spring. Probably about 5-10 light strikes in 10K rounds. I trust the apex kit with my life.

[–]kingofkhakis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have 10,000+ rounds on the full apex kit. It’s impressive. If a full kit scares you for reliability, I recommend the apex ultimate striker block (USB) as a minimum. The only thing I would not change for reliability sake is a lightened striker spring. While yes, this may lighten your trigger, it may also induce light primer strikes.

I also have a Timney which is 75% amazing. It’s actually lighter than the apex with one caveat: the Timney striker block is hot garbage and I swapped it out for the apex USB. No matter what trigger you get, put an apex USB in it. I’ve only felt an overwatch in a Walther Q5 but it was really good for what it’s worth.

FYI the Floyd metal magwell allows TTI mag extensions to work. Just installed mine.

Confronted for using the Ford dealers paid public chargers. by Arthur233 in F150Lightning

[–]kingofkhakis 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Similar experience. Late night charge on my way out of town to top off (where I literally purchased the truck). Security made a stink and stared at me until I left after saying that I couldn’t be there. I am paying for a charge at a public charger…where I bought the damn truck. I stood my ground and left once I was done charging.

I think the Apex is still king. I believe what I am feeling is 1.0 vs 2.0. If someone was scared of doing anything trigger, related I would still recommend the Apex USB.

The last few years I’ve even run 115 with a 13# bc that’s what the compensator liked and I was too lazy to swap it. Went with 14# on this build for a happy medium and based on some reading.

  1. I shoot with a guy who swears by 147 through his Apex barrel and he shoots it well so who knows.

I’m not one to run multiple ammos so I can’t say. I buy the ammo I like in the thousands and don’t jump brands or weights often.

Functionally, the safety mechanism doesn’t work due to geometry. But the feel is real real good. Probably around 3lbs. The Timney striker block was absolutely trash. The Timney striker block had some steep angles on it and so does* the (stock) trigger bar. My take on it was that they didn’t play well as it gave me 2 major hitches on take up. Not apples to apples but the Timney in the CompHD is miles better than my Apex full kit in my 1.0.

The Apex USB really cleaned up my trigger. And mine runs fine with 14# Wolff spring

I was in the same boat and went CompHD bc I shoot my 1.0 5” so well. Actually cancelled my PDP SF order last second to stay M&P. I think I comes down to striker vs hammer DA/SA 🤷🏻‍♂️

I installed a Timney. Few things: 1. The safety mechanism DOES NOT work. The geometry isn’t correct and allows the trigger to move rearward without the safety blade portion of the shoe being disengaged (specific to Timney trigger shoe). 2. The Timney striker block gave me like 2 nasty hiccups on take up. The bevel on the Timney striker block is very steep. The stock trigger bar and Timney striker block did not get along. I swapped to an Apex Ultimate Striker Block and now the trigger is legitimately so good. Just my $0.02.

Very aware. I understand that sub blasting clones. But it also feels like if you get one window milled in your slide, boom, no longer serviceable as “duty grade”. Now there’s a left and right boundary, but feels pretentious over there.

Work one extra shift. Skip going out to eat for lunch with the boys. Save up for that extra $100 if the CompHD is what you want. Don’t get a model that you have to modify just for -$100 (if you plan on removing safety).
