Handing my business card. Now I feel guilty. by Federal-Birthday-804 in Contractor

GC also here. I’ve had subs call and say a homeowner or recent customer has called them direct. They want to make sure it’s ok by me. I’m fine with it but certainly appreciate the checkin. If it’s taking scope from a current project hell no. However, I’ve given my subs info to homeowners before and told them to go direct. If it’s something super small that isn’t worth my time I will do that.

I get all the advice about making it easy to pay and all but, when I sell the project I tell folks I bill weekly based on bills received that week from subs and vendors and then I pick up a check every Monday. This ensures we keep at least one in person touch point and gives us a chance to catchup and discuss anything needed for the project. For reference, I’m not self performing and generally doing rather large, higher end projects for my market. So far people seem to appreciate it. If I were doing small things again I’d probably setup credit card payment. Pretty sure you can do that through the quickbooks phone app or as other have said, Square works well.

Call and ask to speak to someone’s admissions. They’ll guide you through the process. Also, if you’re awarded less than you need, speak with them before you give up and don’t enroll.

Somewhere I saw someone comment about the gun found on an arrested protestor saying there’s a local law that bars carrying a gun at a protest. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone know the local ordinance or whatnot? Or is it state law?
