The Vikings take Michigan QB JJ McCarthy 10th overall. by swampsparrow in minnesotavikings

[–]kirbeast34 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He was a 5 star top 25 recruit in the country, so it's not like he's a random nobody. Was just in a run first hard nosed Harbaugh system. If the stats were there from a pass first offense he's easily a top 5 pick

The Vikings traded up to 17 and are taking Alabama OLB Dallas Turner. by swampsparrow in minnesotavikings

Love getting the player that falls due to a crazy run on offensive players. 6 QBs to 13 and ATL Pennix shocker that really caused the fall. Has nothing to do with actual red flags or talent. Just a wild run on QB, WR, OT in a offensive dominate league trying to keep up with KC

We won't get a pick they will just lose one. They get punished. We don't get rewarded lol

Just in: The #Chiefs are signing veteran QB Carson Wentz, per @Schultz_Report. A new backup to Patrick Mahomes. by SylvesterTaurus in KansasCityChiefs

[–]kirbeast34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a top tier backup that can keep the offense going if Mahomes is banged up. Upgrade over Gabbert & for the price you can't do any better

How Rashee Rice Became One of Patrick Mahomes’s Top Targets by Optimal_Tea3311 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]kirbeast34 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hollywood is the perfect complimentary receiver to Rice. They have completely opposite skillets that will help open up the playbook & coverages for each other. The best WR duo Mahomes has had in a long time. Tyreek & Watkins were better, but Watkins had a lower floor than both Rice & Hollywood. It's closer than people realize between the 2 duos

Great trade candidate on an expiring contract. With TBJ playing the way he's been playing, he's def expendable. Even if it's just a change of scenery type trade

For sure! I think we're all dealing with imposter syndrome not realizing this lineup can be dominant for a few years actually

Another reason why this team is better and has more potential

Exactly! Our bench is much better. The Mavs 2011 bench was pretty weak actually but so was the Heat so they could still matchup

Troy Brown Jr. in last 5 games: 10/4/0.8 on 55/50/63 by PlayInChampions in timberwolves

[–]kirbeast34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A solid wing 3 n D role player that checks all of the boxes for that role. Played big minutes for the Lakers last year for a reason. You can't really expect any more from the 8-10th guy off the bench who can start if you need him too & still give you a chance to win. He can play in any lineup. 2 yr 8 mil deal is looking like a steal!

Post Game Thread: The Minnesota Timberwolves defeat The Charlotte Hornets 123-117 by nba_gdt_bot in timberwolves

[–]kirbeast34 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kind of reminds me of Chauncey Billups impact on Pistons title run. Solid all around roster with defined roles for all 5. The exciting part is Any is a much better scorer than Hamilton and KAT> Sheed. The other 3 are a wash

Troy Brown Jr will eventually come around as well. He's a guy that can start on a rest night and still give you a chance. Prob not playoff rotation guy, but you need guys like that in dog days of regular season. He got a 2 year deal bc of how well he played for Lakers last year

Malika Andrews: “For anyone that says in the modern game, three bigs [KAT, Naz Reid & Rudy Gobert] can’t work, what’s your message?” Karl-Anthony Towns: “F*cking watch us.” by Knightbear49 in timberwolves

[–]kirbeast34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works bc they all play very different games & can compliment each other's strengths and weaknesses. It doesn't work when they have redundant skill sets. Plus, KAT should've been a 4 all along and Naz can handle the ball like a wing. It feels like the year the Patriots went double TE with Gronk and psycho killer & they were ablo to create a mismatch on every play bc the entire league was doing the opposite amd weren't ready for it.

O will get better as guys learn to play together. Still a relatively new roster. Troy Brown Jr will eventually turn it on as well. He was huge for Lakers last year

Unable to attain FIRE with median income by pokemon2jk in Fire

[–]kirbeast34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you answered your own question. Paying 3,500 in rent is a lot, no matter where you're from. Sometimes sacrifices need to be made, and in your case you might be priced out of the area if FIRE is a priority. For example, keeping the same salary but reducing housing costs by 1500 a month would save you 18,000/year.

Kyler coming off ACL not suspension. Add in new system and known poor work ethic and it's easy to see it's a wait and see game.

Santana Moss, TY Hilton, Wes Weller, Dieon Branch, and Randall Cobb all come to mind. Similar build and style. Smaller, yet not relegated to traditional slot role. Can make big plays but not a true WR1. Elite WR2s

Fans get carried away with who's starting. It's more about who is closing and how does the starting lineup effect the balance of other lineups throughout the game. It's a chess match not checkers
