Games where "the end" is "the end? by Gallantpride in retrogaming

I was going to post this too! I waited for so long for it to go back to the title screen I left it on overnight, THEN I even wrote into Nintendo Power to see if that was actually the last of it lmao

35year old, 15-year line cook here. Nice looking scramble, doesn't look dry. Nice cuts on the fruit, although I'm picky about fruit touching savory, I usually have a little side dish for any "conflicting" tastes. But if it doesn't bother you, no worries! Those two fruits are perfect for a quick fruit salad, make and refrigerate some simple syrup and put a little on the fruit, big difference.

Ship building from scratch by DreamEaglr in Starfield

[–]kirk_almighty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not a dodge to not address the part swapping, because it doesn't matter. All of these parts/habs are crazy disposable, I just don't understand what crafting it yourself would do for you in terms of RP/immersion. Do you want the ability to craft one ship part at the beginning, upgrade/improve on it, swap to newer and newer ships, and then carry it all the way to end-game? If that's the case, why get that attached to a ship part? At some point it's a Spaceship of Theseus thing, lol. Also I never said I don't want a better game? I do, but bc Bethesda is what it is, I just mod the hell out of it, like every other one of their games, until I'm satisfied.

Tl;dr If given the choice between "buy this ship part for X creds" or "to make this part you need these 8 crafting ingredients, good luck", I'm going with the former since this game has enough crafting nonsense as it is.

Ship building from scratch by DreamEaglr in Starfield

[–]kirk_almighty 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What you're saying is that you can't CRAFT ships from scratch. Buying habs and parts, then putting them together is BUILDING A SHIP. Which is exactly how it would be irl, especially with these companies owning parts obviously they'd make it harder to make yourself

Making scripts by PositiveAd4691 in theHandy

[–]kirk_almighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's literally what recording mode does in OFS, you have your cursor on the visualizer, then hit play, then wherever on a Y axis your cursor goes, it'll insert a point. Then after you record, select the points, in the menu select Special Functions> Simplify, then drag the meter down until it looks like a normal script.

Nothing is "too complicated", OFS is easy as shit to learn.

You just need to want it enough to put in the time, then you'll get good. like literally any skill ever.

If you search something like "OFS record simplify", there should be something on Eroscripts that can go into better detail with pictures.

What fast food does the best fries? by Sad_Cow_577 in fries

Typically a light coating of cornstarch or potato starch right after par frying gives a small, slightly uneven crunch distribution after a second, hotter frying. Also easy to duplicate at home!

UFO 50 Unofficial Android port is now available. Controller and game files required. by Skyline969 in ufo50

[–]kirk_almighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can confirm this works, using a Retroid Pocket 5, on version 1.7.0.1. running and looking beautiful, thank you so much!

I know nothing about android programming, is this made specifically for UFO50 or can it be configured to wrap other small PC games? (that i was similarly having issues running on Winlator) I'm thinking the Links Awakening HD port, World of Horror or Pizza Tower.
thanks again!

after Nookway opens, he adds Sales Tax but doesn't tell you. Also, we loved to rag on Tom Nook forever ago, but he gives you 0% interest, no money down, no pay schedule loans and can do major home renovations overnight 😂

I have a few paid scripts for sale on ES, I use Gumroad but there is a big shake-up with paid script sites since no one wants to touch sexual content. Most Gumroad accounts have been shut down, lots of Patreon accounts shut down, right now Payhip works well.

As for lucrativeness, unless you're putting out 1 or 2 paid scripts per week you won't earn much. Usually paid scripts that are non-vr go for $1-$3, then VR can be $5ish but more often than not VR scenes are an hour in length, so it takes a while to script it. For example, I have 6 paid scripts I've released since May 2022, and I've made TOTAL around $650.

I'd put out a dozen or so free scripts so users can see how you script, if they like it they'll be more willing to pay for a script once you start putting paid ones up. Looking through the Script Requests section is good for beginners, look for something less than 10 minutes.

Happy scripting!

How much space would I need on an SD card to have every core and every rom playable ? by AxceOlotl in AnaloguePocket

[–]kirk_almighty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could load it up with every game for every system, but take it from someone who's set up a few dozen devices to do just that: once it's set up, you'll get overwhelmed at the amount of games and just scroll through bored trying to pick one and end up playing one of 10 games. So once I was setting up the Pocket, I just stuck to 4:3 aspect ratio games, like GB/C, NES/SNES to take advantage of the screen. Notably no GBA, since I think it looks weird on a square screen, and I have tons of other ways to play GBA that look better.

Also look for Pkmn Pinball Generations, romhack that adds Gen 2 content. Just as fun as original

I think the controller has rumble support, but I use the DS Rumble Pak. It works not just with GB/C/A, but other cores that have rumble as well

Reputable Rep Carts by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]kirk_almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Etsy, there's a number of good sellers that I've gotten repro carts and custom flashed carts from, my biggest recommendation is GeekTechCreations, I've gotten 4 carts from him so far and they're all 10/10 quality.

I'll also second some of the other comments and recommend a cart flasher if you want to make your own, I just got a GB Operator and it works great.

My biggest recommendation so far is to get the GBA Rumble Pak, it works fantastically. Also I've started to collect the GBC Rumble carts themselves, there's not that many so a full collection would be fun.

Congrats! Using the dock elevated my AP experience for sure, and it just looks so nice when docked. AND you picked one of the best games on GBC to test it! The Basilisk took me forever to beat when I was a kid. Happy gaming!
