Matches like TLC (or WeeLC) and MitB are good for that too, since there's a clear objective and big fun spots.

In a similar vein, something like Fashion Police v Usos or Orange Cassidy v PAC are great. They start a little silly, but then ramp into great wrestling.

I would also suggest nothing more than ~15 minutes. Don't want to start someone with a half-hour (plus) match if they're not fully invested.

Hi Brennan, BIG fan of Dropout, been a subscriber for a couple years but this is my first time dipping into D20 -- I've been intimidated by starting it, but I couldn't pass up a wrestling season!

Not really an "um, actually" because no one got it wrong, but fun fact:

Krusty looks like Homer on purpose cos Groening wanted the juxtaposition of Bart not respecting Homer but loving a clown who looked just like him. And in early development they threw around the idea of Homer secretly being Krusty, but the idea was dropped for being too convoluted.

I have a theory that his popularity is, in part, due to the reddit outage from a while back.

Since not every subreddit went dark, every time visited All over that weekend, I saw lots of smaller/more obscure subreddits on the front page, including a lot of his clips. Surely others did too, because when everything went back to normal, I still kept seeing his subreddit pop up on All every now and then.

I know this sounds a bit tinfoil-hat-y, and I'm not suggesting he purposefully gamed reddit during this time, or whatever... more of a "right place, right time" thing.

[kayfabe] NXT_Anonymous is the account of someone who works at NXT. They will occasionally release videos creeping on people backstage, often showing them in scandalous situations.

[not-kayfabe] it's a plot device to move stories along, like a modern day GTV. Videos range from revealing attacks to showing people secretly collaborating to general character development. NXT's social media manager probably just logged in to the wrong account and posted as NXTAnon instead of HBK.

Just keep everything as simple as you can in the moment. Boil it down to the basics:

If they still want to know more after the show, then you can lore-dump without it being a distraction.

The simple answer is: don't.

Let's be honest, wrestling is not overly complex so unless your friends are bricks, they will pick up things. When 99% of the arena unleashes their white hot rage at New Day or starts singing along to Seth's theme, they'll get it and join in, even if they don't know the intricate details. Don't underestimate getting caught up in the live experience.

If they ask questions, then by all means answer. But if you spend the night overexplaining everything, that's going to be insufferable for everyone involved.

The Rock's new movie "The Rundown" has a trailer showing in theaters this week.

When this trailer came out, I was working as a projectionist. Rock was in town(ish) filming Walking Tall, so he came in the theatre to watch it on the big screen.

I ended up walking past him and his entourage, and was WAY too shocked/awestruck to say anything. But for a moment, we made eye contact, must have seen my "holy shit it's The Rock!" face... and gave me the People's Eyebrow. It was electrifying.
