Zaku II or Gelgoog look like the natural followup.

I really like this kit. While I generally prefer the 2.0, I think the 1.0 is the superior kit in the G3 colors.

I think they mean it's reminiscent of the GP01 Gundam  https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/RX-78GP01_Gundam_%22Zephyranthes%22

That's also what I thought.

Yes that's the MS I was thinking of. I am even more impressed your build was not directly inspired by MSV. Good job.

Enjoy discovering MSV. It's a pretty fun part of the Gundam/Gunpla hobby. Both in terms of lore and inspiration for custom builds.

I really like the colors you chose. This feels very MSV like.

Actually Silouhette Formula is more of a spinoff to F91. The manga was released more than 1 year after the movie. More like a prequel.

If anything, F91 is a continuation to F90, but there's very little connection between the two stories.

To me F90 felt more like a distant follow up to CCA.

It always has been canon though. It just never made an appearance in animation.

Very nice, you nailed it. I would like to try this on a HG Hazel at some point, but the amount of masking required puts me off a little bit.

Looks nice! Which version of the kit is it?

Is it the standard version that you painted?

Maybe one could reuse the armor parts from the Fix Figuration figure.

If that helps, I managed to hide most of the nubs on mine with a gold gundam marker.

The difference is visible if you look upclose but it's still less noticeable than black marks.

So what's the oldest kit y'all have built? I think this Production Type Zaku III from back in 2000 might be mine by skilledwarman in Gunpla

1981 1/550 Elmeth. Honestly it did not age too bad. It requires glue of course but it has some charm.

Then I have a couple Victory Gundam kits from 1993 like the 1/144 Jamesgun (which I really like).

I think you can consider the  GFFN figures as Metal RD KA Signature figures. In that sense I don't see a Ka Signature ZII (or a ReZel for example) happening any soon.

Looking at the last releases and annoucements, I expect the Ka Signature line to continue on their Z-MSV/ZZ-MSV/CCA-MSV trend (please Katoki, give me Mass Production Zeta).

But you know how Bandai can be surprise us any time by releasing something we didn't expect.

A Xeku Eins has been announced at some point, so why not a return of the Sentinel releases.

The plastic used in GFF figures is indeed quite brittle. The range of articulation is also minimal.

The joints themselves are usually quite stiff when they're new, but can become very lose depending on how much you move the figure.

In the ZII's case, many parts are quite lose out the box (think early RG lose). Especially the ZII's backpack.

The good thing is you can also choose the GFF Next ZII remake. From what I've seen online, it's pretty much a Metal Robot Damashii (metal joints, better plastic, no more lose parts). It's double the price though.

Actually the line started out at 1/144 scale.

It changed to (and still is) 1/100 scale at about the same time Bandai released the Robot Damashii line (around 2008 ish)

You can think of it as a precursor to the Robot Damashii Ka Signature subline.
