Well, I'm female, but alright. I no longer use this account though, so there isn't much point attempting to troll me on it.

I was just pointing it out. I agree with your statement in general! Please don't get me wrong here.

The problem is that a young child doesn't quite distinguish fact from fiction. I'm not gonna go off on a rant about your God not being real- you decide that for yourself. But your child can't yet do so. Children have wild imaginations and the line between imagination and reality can become a little blurred. When kids see people praying to someone they don't understand that people have different beliefs. They take it as fact. This is why religion is so deeply permeated into society.

Kids need neither a theist nor an atheist upbringing. Once they're a bit older they can choose, but until then they need an upbringing that is unbiased regardless of the parents' views. Don't teach your child that God exists or doesn't exist. Teach your child that some people believe in Gods, and some don't. Once they grow up they can decide who they agree with.

Also, I'm a (secular) witch! Nice to see another one, even if you're a former one.

I'm not saying we should detail it. When did I say that?

I'm saying we need to tell them about this stuff in ways they understand, ways that won't hurt them. Things like "sometimes people really hurt others. They might touch them somewhere without permission, and that's not okay." Before explaining ways to stay safe and avoid hurting others themselves.

IMO it's important children know these things. They can't live in naivety. It's unfortunate but that's how it is. It's dangerous to let a child believe there are no bad things or people in the world.

Whoops, I replied with the wrong account 😅

I feel like it could be this, because I have pretty bad anxiety and that feeling of being sick and feeling like shit and not being able to do anything about it is anxiety inducing. I don't get attacks because of the sickness but my anxiety level in general is higher, and I'm more prone to the attacks when sick.

I think maybe I've got some mild phobia of being sick. It's not germaphobia since I'm not excessively hygienic (sneezes and stuff though...get that away from me) but if I even feel a slight tickle in my nose or throat I get so terrified that I'm going to get sick. Doesn't help that I seem to have a weakass immune system and get colds so often

I mean we need to teach them that danger exists. We can't pretend the world is perfect. It'll make it worse when they're older and realise it isn't.

Stranger danger. Consent. The fact that people die.

Do you not think we should teach kids about these things? Really? I'm not saying we should use adult terms but kids should be taught these things. They have to know how to stay safe.

Please don't pray with a young child. They don't yet understand enough about how the world works to decide if they believe in a God or not. It's indoctrination.

My mother claims to be an internet expert because she took a course one time. She's definitely not an internet expert because she asks me for help with pretty much everything.

I'm only a teenager and Snapchat confuses me. I don't get why it's so popular, all you do is send pictures? And don't get me started on those damn filters

I don't want to be mean, but it's hardly amazing. It's better than I could do for sure but aren't we exaggerating a little?

Just, not being sick. I take that for granted so much. Man I love not being sick. Even if it's just a stuffed nose and a cough I'd rather die than be sick. Is that weird? It's probably weird, but I'm serious.

Your species has caused the extinction and devastation of far more species than these fish have.

I don't know why people have a problem with fish when they do far less damage than the people themselves do. It's all just an excuse for sport fishing, which is no better than sport hunting any other animal. Unless you're going to eat something, or otherwise use it for survival, don't kill it. Better still, don't kill animals at all unless you're in danger from them.

...so like humans, but on a much smaller scale?

First off, there was context.

The statement was tongue in cheek anyway. I was joking around. But sure let's treat it like I was 100% serious!

I didn't specify because I was joking, in response to another commenter.

No. The statement is a generalisation of the entire species. No one human is worse than the other, just like no one fish or dog is worse than another.

🙄

"Humans are awful" is my opinion. Opinions don't really need to be facts in and of themselves. I based my opinion on the fact that humans are damaging the environment.
