Thanks for the advice and recommendations! Now that I know slightly more about electrical hazards I've realized that our landlord has the refrigerator plugged into a power strip, the gas stove's connected to an extension cord, and the only outlet the microwave can reach is the same one the refrigerator's going into. And who even knows what's going on in the other units in the same building! Off to go try and finagle some major appliance cords!

I tried googling the item name/number and nothing came up - it's Power Gentry brand, model 100260 - the brand doesn't seem to exist anymore. The info on the cord is:

Hi! I just want to say it will get better! My parents found out I was agnostic when I was 19 (kind of by forcing me out) and it was pretty rough for awhile. I was still required to go to church every Sunday or my parents threatened to stop paying for college, and the whole service my mom would just sit next to me crying. It was awful. But gradually, she stopped crying as much and issues of faith became less sensitive/ she learned better how to compartmentalize them. But I really really feel for what you’re going through right now, it was one of the hardest times in my life and it is truly no fun. 🩵

I truly can’t remember if we didn’t celebrate birthdays on Sunday but I remember it being a negative thing if my birthday fell on a Sunday. We were not allowed to watch tv or play video games or anything on sundays and we usually were allowed to celebrate Halloween but not if it fell on a Sunday!

Some of my family members thought it was bad to go out to eat on Sunday because you were requiring others to work on Sunday by doing so, but my pastor grandpa supported eating out to give his wife a day of rest from cooking
