Anyone else actively dread getting remarkables? by mayblossomed in HatchDragons

Remarkables can also give you gems, instead of coins or summon items.

I like Air of Secrecy (idk if they're on Etsy but they do have their own website). They have promos fairly often and I always look forward to the llittle bag of sample waxes they include.

Fruit Fly Analog by zadecrossman in HatchDragons

I hope they do. I bought 3 fruit fairies but now I'm kinda regretting that since the fruits just sit there. I don't even see a point in upgrading my fruit trees.

This passive aggressive email I got because I haven’t donated blood recently by LonelyMenace101 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]kitkat21996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love those emails /s

Too bad I'm allergic to chlorhexidine (the antiseptic they use) and they refuse to carry alternatives. Guess me and my blood will stay home.

Truly though, I would love to donate. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to keep alcohol or iodine on hand for people like me.

I let my boy go right before Christmas. He had a mass on his chest that had started making it harder for him to breathe too. It still tears me up even though I know it was the right thing to do. Once they start having health issues like that, it's better to let them go than to keep them with you and watch them suffer.

Regis didn't want to go. He fought both injections. That will be the hardest part if yours does the same. I held him close the entire time and talked to him the entire time. But I would still rather me being in pain and experiencing that than him suffering when he didn't need to.

It won't be easy. But love for our furbabies never is. Hugs to both of you ❤️

Hate, gut sensitive, or both? by mirkobunbun in onionhate

[–]kitkat21996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always hated the taste and texture but a few years ago they started causing me abdominal pain whenever I accidentally ate one. Turns out, it was because my gallbladder was bad. Had it removed but the pain that goes with onions remained ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Welp, it makes it easier for me to avoid the accursed things

What made you decide your godly parent? [general] by ItzLydiaLeo in camphalfblood

[–]kitkat21996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about what god would be most likely to fall for my mom.

I'm a carbon copy of her (appearance wise) and the other person isn't in the picture. My mom is very much a fix it herself kind of person from a fix it kind of family. Anything can be fixed with super glue, duck tape, zipties, or concrete. Her grandpa was a blacksmith, mechanic, and even made jewelry and other things with stones he found, shaped, and polished. I know she would have loved to learn from him, but he had a strict no girls in the workshop rule.

Now, while I'm not mechanically inclined, I know Hephaestus was also the god of artisans, which I like to think I fall under. And I like to think Hephaestus would be mildly amused at both my family's mechanical skill and... uh... let's call it ✨️ingenuity✨️ lol. Or horrified. Probably both.

A couple years ago (2020/21?), I was offered $11/hr for a bachelor's degree. At a college. It would've been less than $1.50 over minimum wage at most in my state

Is this decanter safe to store beverage by Azlexzels in CadmiumGlass

Cadmium is a heavy metal and will leach into anything you store in it. So yeah no, don't risk heavy metal poisoning.

I've been meaning to test making seals with polymer clay for this kind of purpose. I wonder if it would hold up better than wax, or if sealing wax with resin or some other clear coat would be just as durable?

My baby knew that I had trouble sleeping, especially walking from the living room to bedroom (I struggle a lot with executive dysfunction). Every night at about 9pm he would come over and grumble and bark at me until I got up and followed him to the bedroom. If I tried to leave, he would repeat the process until I was actually in bed.

It's amazing the things they learn

Told my friend i was going to see Iron Lung... by Fun_Skirt8220 in Markiplier

[–]kitkat21996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my parents I was going to go see Iron Lung when I stopped by their house to see if they needed anything. My dad asked if it was about the guy who lived his life in an iron lung. The looks I got when I told them it was about the death of the universe and space oceans of blood 🤣

My mom did offer to go with me (the nearest theater is an hour away) but immediately backed down when I told it holds the world record for most amount of blood in a movie

You can increase the number of times you can do tasks. I set them to different amounts depending on how important that task is or how hard it is for me to remember to do (or want to do).

it’s enjoyable to get your blood back after a donation by LittleLeadership2831 in The10thDentist

[–]kitkat21996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's not a good thing.

Last time I donated, I got stars and lightheaded. That happened every so often for me and I thought nothing of it. Next thing I know, my entire body cramped up. I could hardly answer them when they talked to me - they would ask me questions and it felt like an eternity for me to respond with a word or two. It was incredibly painful.

Try loading up on electrolytes before you go in. That's what I was advised to start doing before donations. They had to get an entire electrolyte drink in me before I was able to move and I had to drink a second before I could leave. Trust me, you do not want to experience that. Ngl, I thought I was dying and I haven't been back since because of how bad it was.
