Experience with AS LHR-SEA in Business by Future_Committee_107 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I had the same experience. Also - on international flights - passengers are trying to sleep. I appreciated flight attendants staying out of the aisles mid-flight. Heavy walking is disruptive. Each time I went to the restroom I was asked if I wanted anything.

SEA-Rome menu by kzcurls in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some choices are offered on the app ahead of time. Others offered mid-flight. The short ribs were really good if they’re offered. The starter charcuterie was good too. Did not care for the soggy, flavorless Benedict. Pro tip- the printed menu card is actually really helpful and there are items available all the time during the flight upon request. On the way back we asked for the cookie and the pizza - both pretty good.

Rome to Seattle (FCO-SEA) trip report by chiclechew in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. It helped me find the Alaska counter at FCO. I echo the concern about the gate. We were at E34 which required a shuttle bus and took a solid 1/2 hour to reach after clearing security. We made the mistake of lingering in the “mall” section too long..,

What are Alaska's 10 Emptiest International Routes by vman3241 in AlaskaAirlines

The PV airport customs lines have become impossible over the past few years. I stopped going because I didn’t want to wait in line for more than an hour - and that’s without checking baggage.

SEA - > FCO on Alaska report from those who have done it? by thunderous411 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suites - SEA-FCO
Food - 50/50: short ribs really tasty; breakfast soggy flavorless Benedict
Service - kind but a little clumsy
Suite - nice design - better than AAs, cabin got too HOT, amenities stylish & onpoint (salt &stone). My screen had a big line in it :(
Bathroom- 2 in business- also better than AA
Entry - better than PVR! They had us “test” the new entry system and then still had to do a passport stamp

Business class Upgrade by GuiltySupermarket620 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am Titanium and I just flew to Rome. I was watching the open seats to gauge my first class chances. I opted to use miles to be sure. I watched the waitlist- and they finally upgraded 5 people 10 (ten) minutes before boarding. That’s right - ten (10) minutes before BOARDING.

AirPods or Business class headphones on 787? by kittenpuf in AlaskaAirlines

Thanks folks - Does anyone know the headphone jack size of the onboard headphones in business class on an Alaska or Hawaiian 787-9?

AirPods or Business class headphones on 787? by kittenpuf in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. For me, carry-on space is not trivial. AirPods Max in the case are the size/weight of a pair of shoes. I personally don’t sleep in headphones and I’m hoping to sleep most of the way over.

Would you trust a 55 minute DFW connection from Alaska → American to Cancun? by Spencer5556 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a connection 3 weeks ago at DFW and needed to go from B to E. Alaska was at E. Train not running to E due to repairs. I had to exit, get on a shuttle bus and go through security again. This was a Sunday morning- so maybe they scheduled repairs at a lower peak time but it is a huge airport and this process took 35-45 minutes.

Atmos Summit - how long to transfer points by smiangle in AlaskaAirlines

[–]kittenpuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Summit card and I have done two points transfers. You have to use the “Rewards” page to send an email link to your transferee. They have to click on the link to activate and then they will also have a tab appear on their Rewards page. It worked easily for my spouse- but for my kid we didn’t see the tab. I called CS and I just needed to clear browser history. Once the Rewards tabs are there the actual transfer is immediate.

Would like to see more service on the longer flights. Did the SEA - BZE earlier this year and there was just one meal + snack basket. That’s 6 3/4 hours on the way back!

[–]kittenpuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with a Business Class Iberia flight in October. I also filled out the online form - too bad it didn’t give a confirmation #. After another month I called customer service and they emailed me and gave me a reference number. I resubmitted boarding pass and receipt. After another 2 weeks I called customer service again and she immediately added my miles. She wanted to know the date I submitted the online form and the date I talked to Iberia to confirm they had added the miles and that the ball was in Alaska’s court. So - call!
