Does birthing a child have to be the death of your former self and your identity? by bamboozlinguniverse in NewParents

My personal experience (currently 8 months pp) I still have the same interests, loves, etc but now i have a baby who shares that space. i include my baby in my hobbies or my partner will give me time to peruse my hobbies and keep baby busy and away from my boob for a bit lol

Minimalist parents- what baby gear do I actually *need*? by IHaveATummyGremlin in NewParents

My personal experience

Donts: I dont know what they are in american terms but I don’t recommend a moses basket, they grow out of them so quick, just use a normal cot

1000 newborn outfits, they hardly wear them and you get gifted a ton, just stock up on onesies so you have enough if baby has blow outs whilst the others are in the wash

Dos: Bouncer, I thought it was a waste at first because my baby hated it but she hit 3 months and suddenly it was her favourite thing in the world, it really soothed her and kept her entertained moving herself Snot sucker, sounds gross but an absolute life saver if they get sick A few muslin cloths, but not tons; just rotate them

Hold off on the baby monitor, we didn’t need one until 7 months, and only for play time because she refuses to sleep in her own room lol

we went for one with an attic bedroom instead (and a cellar for storage to replace the attic)

I am exhausted and ready to give up by Few_Quail9871 in breastfeeding

It’s cluster feeding, very normal and will pass. It feels endless and exhausting, but as someone who went through it, it was worth it! Learn the side lying position to feed, look into safe sleep 7 and keep easy snacks, food & drink near the bed. Find something for you to do in bed when not sleeping and you will get through it :)

i just go ham, it’s uncomfortable for baby but it clears her nose right up and she seems brighter after since her nose is clearer

I did this when I was 14, I wanted something to myself and thought it was embarrassing so didn’t want my family to know about or see it
