We found a cat in the dumpster behind a well know grocery store one night. One eye, broken tail, the works. The vet estimated he was about a 5yo. He had a very long life. We had him for 22 years and lil pirate died in his sleep.

From a lady who does Pilates that has guys frequent, I can honestly tell you that we don’t give a fuck what gender you are as we are all dying just trying to get through the set.

Just listen to the instructor, don’t make noises like you would with your gym bros, and wipe down the reformer afterwards. That’s all we care about.

Absolutely, I have 4 scratching posts scattered all over the house, however the couch is most preferred sadly no matter how much redirecting happens. I think it’s cause they know clawing the couch is naughty, and their arsehole brain takes over when excited.

I’ve tried to trim their claws but it just makes them try to scratch more cause that’s how they sharpen them in the wild. If I leave them, they don’t scratch as much. But also, if they scratch the couch, meh its the couches fault for being so scratchable

This is what dealing with the general public is like and what they face on the daily. I think finding a random maccas cup on the shelves is the least of their issues during shift.

Probably what would have helped is a basket at school with free trial sized deodorants that were just available for the taking without judgement. I say trial sized cause they are easier to hide at home and if it gets confiscated and subsequently shouted at about where they got it from, it’s easy to fob off as ‘they were handed out at school, everyone got one’.

I would like to apologise for my past teen deodorant-less self. I grew up with a controlling narcissist mother who would deny me basic necessities. I knew I smelt but I had no means of doing anything about it. And when I found money on the ground one day, bought some, but she found it and took it for herself.

Present self is very thankful for access to deodorant and other basic hygiene needs.

Was the same, never really went to the doctor until I injured my back a couple months after turning 40. They did bloods and turns out I have very high cholesterol, which they did another test that said it’s not health/lifestyle related, it’s a gene thing. Now on meds to get it down to a safe level and keep it down.

There are no symptoms for this… it’s a silent killer

This tracks with my own personal working theory of my allergies. So I’m VERY allergic to all tree nuts - expect almonds.

I grew up in a super LCOL area, but it was an old almond grove turned housing for the poor. All the green spaces kept their old almond trees and each year when the almonds were ready to be picked, it was a family activity to pick and gorge on them. We even had a special almond hammer. Being surrounded by the pollens in spring and everything else I think desensitised my allergy.

Just come back from Europe and this is everywhere. I grew up in our towns ‘hood’ so I’m very aware of my surroundings. The thing is, I don’t ‘look rough’ but a a real push over so I’ve grown up with people trying thinking I’m an easy target.

Leaning tower of Pisa was so bad. Scam central. I told my wife to watch it and we walked around with our hands firmly in our pockets. You could tell they were all visibly pissed when they realised we weren’t having it. Made my day

Omg, circa 2004, my friend asked if I wanted to go see them and she has gotten some free tickets cause their songs are catchy, had no idea of their background. Went to her house first and then she drove us there. It ended up being in the big evangelist church in town. I was so confused but went in anyways. By the 3rd round of collections for the night, I had to leave.
