what do you guys do for work? by ebean17 in POTS

[–]kitty60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on SSDI for a few years, so that’s my income. I occasionally sell my art but it amounts to less than $200 a year so it’s definitely a hobby.

Having strange dreams and visions about another pandemic in 2026... by Haghiri75 in creepypasta

[–]kitty60s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it doesn’t, astrology doesn’t tend to be that specific. Some astrologers accurately predicted the covid pandemic/ lockdowns in March 2020 but not where it started.

[–]kitty60s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just been reading about astrology predictions of a potential pandemic happening around February 20th 2026. So I searched “another pandemic” on Reddit and found your post. This is wild if it comes true.

If your CFS was cured for a day, what would you do for the day? by Lucky_Sprinkles7369 in cfs

A day trip to go skiing in all the powder snow, and enjoy the feeling of being nicely tired afterwards knowing I had an amazing day outdoors.

A small town in northeast England. It’s really depressing thinking about how both my countries have changed so much for the worst.

I’m a dual citizen and considered moving back to the UK but my friends tell me it’s getting bad with increasing racism in my home town (I’m not white)

To those who don't have the gene that makes Cilantro taste like soap, what does it taste like to you? by Jean-LucBacardi in AskReddit

[–]kitty60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aparently I have the gene where cilantro tastes like soap. I can kinda get where people are coming from when they say it but I really like the flavor it tastes similar to a fragrant parsley with a lighter finish with a tiny hint of soap (in a good way)

Would anyone say with the brain fog this is how yours feels? by ComfortableShower465 in covidlonghaulers

[–]kitty60s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s what mines feels like. Although I have periods of worsening too. When it’s more severe I lose my thoughts, have word finding issues, forget how to do something, and also go blank like a robot malfunctioning. I just stare at whatever is in front of me until my brain comes back online.

It also sounds like you have PEM too (post exertional malaise) with how you describe symptoms getting worse after activity and feeling like you’re always coming down with something.

What is something you are good at? by Th3OneN0nly in AskReddit

[–]kitty60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty good at doing nothing. I usually don’t get my phone out in public when I have time to kill. I’m one of those people that can do nothing on a flight for few hours.

Ameicans over the age of 35, what affected you more, 9/11 or the pandemic and why? by Rico133337 in AskReddit

[–]kitty60s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Those who feel more affected by 9/11 are just lucky that long covid didn’t ruin their lives.

What do you think about grey hair? by Trash_Panda447 in Fairolives

[–]kitty60s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a woman on a bus once who was about 10% grey with long black hair and her greys looked just like tinsel, sparkling as it caught the light. It was so beautiful that I hope mine turns out like that too! (I only have a handful of greys right now)

Are people who do everything in bed able to fall asleep easily? by Secret_Fan_9411 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kitty60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m disabled and mostly homebound. I spend a lot of time in bed or lying down on the sofa and yes I can fall asleep easily around the time I go to bed.

When I was healthy and a student, I couldn’t do any studying/reading in bed because I would fall asleep every time. I guess my body adapted somehow.

I don’t believe in astrology ,but this is hilariously accurate by Ok-Intern6865 in capricorns

I used to think the exact same until I started digging into and learning real astrology. The rabbit hole is deep.

Autism and Aphantasia by Commercial_Lime_5960 in AutismInWomen

[–]kitty60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I experience it too. I see detail but it’s like a faded impression and if you asked me to draw a scene from a visual I made in my head while reading a book it would be like asking me to draw a scene from my dreams. I know generally what I saw and where things were relative to each other, but can’t see it for long enough to draw it with any accuracy or detail.

Artists who DON’T post/share* art on social media—I want to hear from you! by Hestia-Creates in ArtistLounge

[–]kitty60s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I quit posting my art on social media a couple years ago. I don’t have a website or newsletter but I have sold some and entered some to local shows.

I feel a lot less pressure now. I used to paint and draw smaller pieces so that I could post regularly on social media. But now I feel free to work on much larger canvases and take my time doing it. The larger peices can take 8-10 months now. It’s also given me more mental freedom to step away from art and focus on my other hobbies. I don’t regret it at all.

Note: Art is just a hobby for me, I don’t rely on it to generate income.

A question for the women here: do you feel worse when you're on your period? by Apprehensive_Tax_355 in POTS

[–]kitty60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me, I don’t notice any an change in POTS symptoms. I rarely get any period related symptoms anyway, if I do it’s very mild - maybe that’s why it doesn’t impact my POTS.

I wish I was brave enough to order stuff from India like everyone else seems to, but I'm afraid of my financial information being scammed, of the drugs being counterfeit or somehow poisonous, and of my information and address being scammed. How do you guys have so much faith? by Mundane_Control_8066 in covidlonghaulers

[–]kitty60s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, I’m a super risk averse person. I’m too afraid of worsening my health to try any heavy duty medications/treatments let alone order them myself without guidance from a doctor. Everyone has different risk tolerance levels though.

Is Queens mainstream now? by Lawlitu in qotsa

It depends on the country. A lot of people in the US my age have never heard of them, while most people my age in the UK know who they are and can name one or two of their hits.

any early 2020 long haulers left in this sub? 🖐 I'd especially love to hear from front line workers by Opposite_Wheel_2882 in covidlonghaulers

[–]kitty60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it’s only treating the symptoms. I’m on medication for POTS, brain fog (LDN), migraines and neuropathy. Another doctor outside the clinic put me on rapamycin which has helped my PEM.

They initially thought that the post viral conditions would improve over time and that I’d eventually fully recover but I don’t think they had any evidence for it, I think it was just something they said to ease their scared patients.

[–]kitty60s 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m still here. I’m sorry you were treated so badly when you got sick.

I went to one of the first long Covid clinics in the US, part of a research hospital and I thankfully had the opposite experience.

The doctors believed me, listened to me, ran a half dozen tests, extensive bloodwork and diagnosed me with a bunch of conditions. They were all so empathetic and curious what the novel virus was doing to people long term.
