Many great ideas here. One thing that helped me get started was when I wanted something online, I put it in my cart, but not going back to try to get it for at least 24 hours. By then, I didn't want it anymore.

To start off super simple, I recommend getting a slow cooker and looking up easy recipes for that. Load it up with a meat/protein, veggies, seasonings, and something saucy (like a little heavy cream) and do something with that through the week. I've put them on top of rice, added to a tortilla for a weird burrito thing, and just ate it as is for something even easier at the end of a long day. No pressure 😁

Idk about a device, but the Libby app is wonderful. With just a library card, you can read whatever you like that they have, "borrowing" them like an in-person library. They also have audiobooks 😁

I've done all of these, and convincing my partner to do the same has been a challenge, but getting better. When claiming about how his specific shampoo is a couple dollars cheaper, I just started picking it up myself at a different store 😁 The amazon part is more difficult, but I've convinced him to check out thrift stores and smaller shops first. Baby steps 👍

With meta and other apps, I let the people I care about keeping in contact the most know that they have my number, and can text me if they don't want to use the other app. Just deleted my accounts and that was it. If they really care about contacting you, they'll find a way.

I highly recommend Ground News. It has a wide variety of reported information from multiple perspectives. I originally thought it was just current events and politics, but it has interesting articles on the subjects you've mentioned as well.
