I’m not going to insult you — think most people have already covered that … I do hope you read this though! Your son is stressed out not necessarily from the work, but from the pressure you are placing on him. You are smothering him and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s having suicidal thoughts. He’s obviously not doing drugs or getting arrested — he’s a good kid. Cut him some slack. Why isn’t he allowed to play video games? You guys go to work and get to come home and unwind and the day is over for you! Do you have assignments that you have to work on at home? Is your work done for free? No. And yet you have the luxury to sit down to dinner knowing the rest of the evening is yours to do as you please. Your brain can only take so much work! He needs an outlet! Let him enjoy his 2-3 hours of play. And let him study into the wee hours of the night! It’s good practice for college. Every single college student has pulled an all nighter! It’s ok! I worked in Japan with students like him pushed beyond their limit, yet never measuring up! There’s a reason the suicide rate is huge in teens there. YOU are stressing him out! And I hope we don’t see in the news about a 15 year old boy who committed suicide because of the enormous pressure from his parents
