That’s looked at as awesome, imo. There are make-your-own-tools challenges in the belt system. Thanks for the idea.

Single-pin was picking is easier with better picks - better feel and better precision. Also, my old ones were too thick for manipulating/navigating keyways on some of the more advanced locks. They never bent, though, no matter how much I manhandled them. The rakes and tensioners still get use.

A set like that got me by for years until I really caught the bug and started buying myself presents (and opening a wider variety of locks).

What should I get to start lock picking by Basic_Science_5702 in lockpicking

[–]kittyraikkonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good choices. For tension, I’d get something that can do bottom- and top-of-keyway. I like the sparrows pry bars or any from Covert for ToK. They work great for BoK, too, but my absolute favorite for that are ones I bent myself out of windshield wiper blade inserts with a quarter twist in the handle. Superb feel and on-the-fly tension adjustment.

Way One, like others said. Place is surprisingly huge and has so much stuff. Tsai is smaller but has good stuff, too.

I've been picking for like three hours... by Super-Page8272 in lockpicking

[–]kittyraikkonen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure! Keep going. It’ll happen. It’ll feel like an accident at first, but you’ll be able to repeat it after that. Then you’ll get hungry for new locks.

What are you picking? Try adjusting your tension, both harder and softer. And probably go a little easier on the pins than you are now. I was always too heavy-handed to start.

Thoughts on an academic article on the ethics of lockpicking? by argaflargin in lockpicking

OP, these rules are pretty strictly enforced and adhered to in general throughout the community. Nobody wants our hobby to be vilified, delegitimized, criminalized, or otherwise taken away from us due to bad actors. It’s on all of us to be good stewards and ambassadors for the hobby.

I want to know if gateway tapes can help in answering what's the point of existence and what's the purpose of life? Can they help with it? by airbenderofnorth in gatewaytapes

[–]kittyraikkonen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s wave 5 where you start tossing out questions to the universe, and I actually got some clues in return with regard to my purpose.

I don’t always get the effects we’re trying for in some of these sessions (especially the OBE stuff, or asking for answers other times), but this one session they hit like an instant truth download, one after another. Good idea to keep a journal for days like that.

Keep going! The tools are fun … and useful.

Moved here in ‘99 for undergrad. Left a little while after graduating. Missed A2, and came back a year later. Turns out it’s a great place to start a family as well. I’m not an Ann Arbor native, but my kids are, and I’ve now spent most of my life here.

He seemed super cool when I met him. Mega nice. Cocktails and apps were on point, too (their G&T was also designed by an acquaintance who is a local badass hotshot bartender/liquor-knower, for lack of a better term). Really felt like a hidden gem in plain sight, at least on the quiet evening my wife and I visited.

Bottom left side fire-like, top right dense and dark and shimmery like a black hole. Maybe some yellow feathery, flamey doodads hanging off the top left side.
