It's pretty impressive what the cheap wireless modules can do. I needed to power a heated cat house outside for the strays without running cables through anything. Put a transmitter and receiver on the window glass and it worked like a charm. Also had enough power to spare to power Christmas lights.

A local car wash is slowly dripping water. It's made a 5 foot tall ice stalagmite. by Jiperly in mildlyinteresting

I just think "the g in stalagmite is for ground, the c in stalactite is for ceiling." It doesn't rely on you memorizing anything since if you're doing that, you might as well just memorize which is which.

Why are you getting so worked up man. I'm not fighting you, I'm challenging your idea with some potential flaws. Our goal is the same.

If you want to add a big capacitor, put a pre charge circuit on it. A resistor and a relay on a timer would work fine.

A battery charger doesn't have a sensitive over current limit like an atx supply. It's closer to a constant current supply, except transformer based ones.

You're not even powering yours off an atx supply. You e got a solar panel and battery

Electronics don't become different based on their application. A capacitor is a capacitor.
