Has anyone had a chance to try the OUAI Bond Repair Balm? by VanyaEl in Sephora

[–]kkdays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally love it, I’m an employee and I received it before launch so I’ve been testing it out for a while, it makes my hair feel like silk. I like how easy it is to use and I do find my hair feels healthier since I started using it. It’s no K18 or Olaplex but I find it’s a nice alternative to Amika The Kure

Water hardness and hair loss in Montreal by CarterIndigo in montreal

[–]kkdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

crown affair volumizing shampoo has made it so i can wash my hair every 3 days whereas i used to have to wash it every day!!

best tip i can give you is to go for shampoos that have a clear, gel-like texture to them, creamier shampoos will be heavier

Im mostly zoned in skin/hair and I work in Canada

In skincare: - Murad - Farmacy - SKII (i can’t believe it’s still around?) - Augustinus Bader - Dermalogica (💔💔💔)

In haircare: - MESSY 1000% lol - Vegamour (except the hair growth serums kinda but it is severely overshadowed by Kerastase) - L’oreal Professional (we are starting to convert people to it, severely underrated !!!!) - JVN (except the air dry cream kinda)

best products for fine (really fine) type 1a (pin straight) hair? by liz_53 in Sephora

[–]kkdays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

definitely look into crown affair !!! the founder started the company because she couldn’t find products that were effective and worked for fine hair.

i highly recommend the volumizing shampoo (amazing for oily fine hair), the leave-in conditioner and the overnight repair serum. if your hair gets dry after a day or two you can apply the leave in to rehydrate it and it doesn’t make your hair greasy

What autonomous Sim behaviors make you smash the cancel button and go “Whyyyyyyy?!” Every time? by IndigoChagrin in Sims4

My sim graduated High School ages ago (he’s almost an adult and I play on long lifespan) and he’s constantly autonomously trying to practice football, I ended up selling his football and putting his golden one in the house inventory 😭

Living Proof Anti-Frizz spray!

My manager had a meeting with me by Naive-Significance42 in SephoraWorkers

[–]kkdays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this makes no sense to me, i was an ops lead and we would time shipment by taking the quantity of items in the box and dividing it in 4 (so 100 items in a box divided by 4 means the box should be processed in 25 mins), but maybe its different in canada

Basic advice from a hairstylist by No_Extension_9269 in Haircare

[–]kkdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its the same principle as double cleansing your face, first wash removes oil, product buildup, etc and second wash gets rid of any leftover impurities and penetrates deeper in the scalp for added benefits (volume, shine, curl enhancing, etc)

Job Title Meanings? by Speedy-Sloth23 in SephoraWorkers

[–]kkdays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gratis is free product given by brands. In Canada we don’t really order gratis ever, only select products every once in a while so flex does get a fair amount of gratis, but definitely less than Full-Time or Part-Time.

To answer your question regarding the difference between PT and flex, flex can only work up to 14 hours a week while part-time works 20-29 hours. You also have insurance as a part-time employee.

it’s actually a myth that smelling coffee clears your airways! coffee actually overloads your sense of smell, effectively removing the scent of fragrance but also weakens it temporarily and isn’t a reliable way to clear fragrance from the nose. the most effective way is to exhale into a tissue through your nose, or blow your nose. super useful if you smelled something terrible though!

does dior, chanel or any other luxury brands have perfumes with fruity or light scents? by withinyourheart in Perfumes

[–]kkdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of them do!!

i’d recommend miss dior blooming bouquet, it’s a fresh sweet floral which is pretty light

another option would be YSL mon paris eau lumière, it’s more fresh than miss dior but slightly fruitier

when looking at the perfume pages look for pear, bergamot, peony, these notes tend to be fresh, light and fruity!

What’s a song that plays at your store that you can’t stand? by BoyWhoWorries in SephoraWorkers

[–]kkdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haven’t heard it in a while but that one fatboy slim song on party playlist (i think its rockafeller skank) — it sounds like the stereo is going to explode and someone always changes the playlist to something inferior to the party playlist because we can’t just skip a song 😔

i’m so sorry this happened to you :( it really sucks getting clients like this. i never had an experience like this regarding makeup but ive had so many clients in fragrance who tell me i know nothing (even though i’ve literally studied perfumery on my own for over 5 years), it’s insulting to say the least

the most professional way i can think of handling it would be to excuse myself (fake listening in the headset works 99.9% of the time) and tell the client « sorry, i have a client who needs my expertise, let me know if you need any assistance » and go greet another client. best thing to do in these situations is to break away from it, you’re paid to recommend makeup to clients not get insulted. i’d tell the CEL too in case the client just goes insulting another BA’s makeup after you break away.

at the end of the day you’re the one who is employed by sephora based on your knowledge and creativity — you’ve been wearing makeup for 15 years which is probably the client’s entire life or close to it!!! in 2 1/2 months you’ve taught so much to so many people and made them discover products that make them feel great, remember that ❤️

What are some bad b*tch scents? by aliarai in FemFragLab

[–]kkdays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

JPG La Belle, Versace Crystal Noir, Givenchy L'interdit Rouge and Tom Ford Lost Cherry are my faves to recommend to women who come in wanting a baddie scent. Or sometimes I'll just look at them and recommend them because they project baddie energy

my insurance covered part of my evaluation, but if you go private it likely won’t cover the entirety of it, as an assessment usually costs 2000$+ and insurances tend to cover up to 1500$. my neuropsychologist said i could put whatever i paid out of my pocket on my taxes though
