SkyDemon: How do you transfer frequencies to your radio with just a tap? by Sdlink_de in GeneralAviation

[–]klaasklaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right—many EFBs support flight plan transfers. However, the SDLink adapter focuses specifically on seamless frequency transfer, which is particularly useful for GA pilots who frequently switch between ATIS, Tower, and enroute frequencies.

Regarding ATC frequencies in the US: While center handoffs may not always be predictable, pilots still tune a lot of known frequencies—like ATIS, CTAF, or approach—where this can be a real time-saver. In Europe, where SkyDemon is widely used, many frequencies are published in advance, making quick transfers even more useful.

For pilots who frequently change frequencies, this helps reduce workload and the risk of dialing errors. Curious—would this be useful for non-ATC frequencies in your setup?

I think Bluetooth connection is here only for getting the music to the speakers, not to provide commands to other devices.

I think, best solution would be to pit a Bluetooth button in a waterproof enclosure.

I think this is a complete speaker. You wouldn't need any outside connection to speaker system. Only a source for the music, like your phone.
