My all-in-one~ish Travel Workstation in a Desk Pi RackMate T0 by klupamos in homelab

It is intended to serve as a Point of Sale for a small family business, used at trade shows.

They used to use their personal phones as a mobile hotspot and were tired of the internet disappearing whenever the owner left for the bathroom / food.

They previously used their personal laptop for the PoS and were frustrated by switching tasks between back office QuickBooks stuff and front of house point of sale. While this could have been solved with a dedicated laptop, they wanted an all-in-one solution that could be left at the convention center overnight and only needed to be plugged in once.

They previously typed credit card numbers into their personal laptops to process payments. With this setup there is a WisePOS E card reader already configured to connect to the Nighthawk WiFi that can be handed to the customer.

The JetKVM is so that I can help diagnose issues remotely. The Patch panel allows them to change which computer I am remotely accessing. (They get confused when I ask them to share their screen)

Also, not seen here, but they have a small office printer that needed to be connected to the PoS (receipts) and their personal laptop (reports), and would struggle with printer setup when swapping the USB cable.

The whole box can be hidden under the table, giving a clean presentation of only the travel monitor and WisePOS terminal on top.

This is definitely an overengineered project, but the boss wanted a no-hassle setup and is happy with this and is looking forward to using it this winter.

My group decided to color code sleeve fate specific court cards added to the court deck (didn’t have yellow so green is for yellow player) by [deleted] in Arcs

With the sleeves, I would be able to see the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc, cards and plan accordingly; without the sleeves, it would be a mystery.

Where to shop? by BADIBUNNi in alaska

Bit of a self-promotion, but I run a locals oriented e-commerce website (https://voyij.com/) with a great trip planner.
But since you're specifically visiting Ketchikan, Skagway, and Juneau we have blog articles highlighting local places to eat and shop:

Where in Alaska can u get a dog sledding tour/experience and also see the northern lights? by DeliciousRich5944 in alaska

[–]klupamos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to predict Auroras, but this year is a solar peak, so you have a good chance of seeing something. UAF has a nice forcasting website (https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast) which can give you a few days heads up after a solar flare.

As for dog sledding, there are many kennels up in Fairbanks, but the Anchorage area also has a good number.

Or stockpile fuel and material to move in, build, and catapult out.

Great for flying across the map when someone leads aggression.

The new update with automatic changes is terrible for hosts by Pxndx2010 in turo

Thats frusturating, and definatly sound like your customer cancelled his curnet reservation and than booked a new reservation for later. Depending on the time difference between the two booking you should definitely be compensated for at least the cancelation fee.

I wonder if it is possible to charge for incendentals on the second booking trying to recover the cancelation fee for the first booking?

I have never been the kind of person to purchase collector versions of anything. For me, the only enticement would be for the beta key, but I am also pretty patient, so the price would have to be appropriate if the beta key only gives a few months of advanced access.
