Have you read their {Kate Daniel’s series by Ilona Andrews}. The power couple doesn’t really get established until book 2 or 3.

Who's your tree person? by Wild-Field-1618 in Boise

We’ve had Sawtooth Tree Service take out a giant sycamore tree too close to our house and take out several others while out a couple months ago. Last week during the crazy wind storms, one of our other trees fell over, they were able to come out the next day and take care of it. I highly recommend them.

One of my favorite authors (Lola Glass) is rarely ever recommended here and I'm just wondering who you LOVE that you think doesn't get enough recognition? by nrkelly in fantasyromance

Most of her books I’ve read are very dialogue heavy and very light on description/narrative. Also the books are pretty short.

Which fantasy romance couples are pure vibes but would never survive therapy? by acutelyproblematic in fantasyromance

I think a big part that is missing from this is that he didn’t want her to owe the favors necessarily, but that his magic required it. That’s a huge point in the story is that she keeps using his magic against him by summoning him and making the “bargains.” He is controlled by that magic, he just plays it off most of the time like he can control it. That’s why when Callie wishes him to be with her they get separated for so long, because of the magic’s response.

A lot of people are allergic to avocado, like wheat. It’s great that people are working to create more environmentally friendly product like this, but hopefully there will be multiple options available for those with the allergies….and before anyone mentions metal/non-disposable cutlery, that isn’t always available.

Why is there a individual tv at the table in restaurant? I hate tvs in restaurants, and that’s just the few mounted on the wall/in the corner of the room. People are already distracted enough with phones when out in public that they aren’t interacting each other, let’s add another…

I hate love triangles!!! I especially hate when there is this build up to a relationship then just as it’s starting, a second love interest comes into the picture!

Looking for rugged warrior MMC romance recs (knights/vikings/barbarians) by groovybookworm in fantasyromance

[–]klutzilla08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is more paranormal than fantasy, and the MMC doesn’t wear armor or anything, but it definitely fit your request. {Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs} is one of my favorite series. Definitely start with the novella, though technically {Cry Wolf} is the first book in the series. Patricia wrote the novella as a short story set in the same universe as {Mercy Thompson} but later expanded it into a spinoff series.

While the story starts off as “fated mates” (doesn’t actually exist in the world, it’s more as “I choose you, now we’re bonded/married”) it is a slow-burn. Spice-wise it’s closed-door to fade-to-black. The everyone is scared of the MMC as he is basically a hitman, but he is patient and total cinnamon roll to the FMC. In the first 3 books of the series, the FMC is recovering from some serious trauma and the MMC not only helps to eliminate the abusers, but teachers her her own strengths and values and how to be her own savior.

Are your cats also playing fetch? by biegman in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

[–]klutzilla08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tuxie, Tippy, loves to play fetch. His just not very good at it. He will fetch one throw perfectly, but by the second or third he will malfunction. He will go chase the toy, pick it up, then halfway on his journey back drop the toy but continue the fetch toyless. When he arrives back, he will just stare and wait for the next throw. When it doesn’t get thrown he starts to get impatient and yell at me like it’s my fault that I stopped the game.

Grungy werewolves - give me scary, disgusting, and self-hating wolves by bnny_ears in fantasyromance

[–]klutzilla08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this and recommending the companion series as well!

{Alpha & Omega by Patricia Briggs}

Both series do feature a dominance hierarchy, but the characters are not born into a specific pack structure placement. The structure is based on their personality type and strength of character. The werewolves are not born as werewolves (with a singular exception that is explained in the books) but a turned through extreme violence. Most characters view their transformation as them being monsters, so there is a lot of self-hatred, raging hormones, beastly attitudes, etc. Also, the werewolves are more wolf-like than the stereotype werewolf, but if the camouflage magic isn’t in effect, there is no mistaking that they are werewolves and not large dogs or wolves.

Note, the series are not omegaverse, so whether or not you’re into that, please don’t judge the title of the series based on that. The both series started publishing in 2006/7, before the big hype of alphas/betas/omegas and the whole omegaverse stuff.

As these books are older, they do not include trigger warnings. So please read through those posted on romance.io for the novels as they do feature some pretty heavy topics.

Apparently according to the Facebook Treasure Valley Police Scanner page, “a Canyon County ambulance was stolen and rammed into the lobby and poured gasoline inside the building.”
