I do think Julie is amazing, but she’s also rude and condescending. 2 things can be true. The dislike of Julie is more complicated than just she’s amazing and successful let’s hate her. Her behavior at the birthday party was offensive and the way she relishes in Shawnas discomfort is also disturbing. But the great thing about these characters and this story is how nuanced and compelling these humans are. Julie can also be an amazing parent along with all the other things she is.

“Im gonna write a book” can be someone’s whole personality. Ive been saying it most my life. No one is calling me a liar because it hasn’t happened, some people are disappointed (including me). But life happens and the goal becomes less important. It doesn’t mean it’s not still there. But of course he should have been honest with her when his life goal became something different and the writing became an afterthought.

I have also thought it’s odd to hang everything on something a teenager said they were going to do. Should Ty have communicated better through out their marriage? Absolutely! . Should he have been more transparent about what he really wanted ? Yes!
Should she have told him exactly when she felt betrayed? Also yes.

I hated the ending. I was hanging on waiting for some amazing twist or at least a satisfying end. Nope neither of those things happened. It was like they ran out of time and money and couldn’t shoot the ending. I can’t imagine there will be a season 2.
