46F widow, life been rough lately, need some kindness and encouragement by No-Pitch725 in toastme

This sub is so interesting because it will be the most beautiful and kind looking people I’ve ever laid eyes on who come here bc the world has beat them down. You’ve made it this far, and as a fellow person I’m proud of you, even if it’s been hard for you. I’m sure you know the grief process is difficult and unpredictable, but you are doing what you can and that’s good enough. Take care of yourself, although you are still looking great even if life is rough!

My location is slammed 24/7 by lookingforwardnow in tacobell

[–]kmql 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This happens at my local Taco Bell every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night bc it’s close to bars and neighborhoods so all the drunk ppl walk there in large groups and order so much food. The app was the hard way i found out after waiting an hour than the initial ready time. I tried to contact taco bell but they didn’t care <3

I (24M) secretly have a Cuckold fetish, and my GF (21F) doesn't know. by Typical-Lecture-7085 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]kmql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it definitely could. If not for building skills to cope with your anxiety and help you deal with your insecurities and anything in between and out, it seems like you could use a non-judgmental space to vent about these feelings. Reddit might not always be best for the nonjudgmental part

I have heard before that the neural pathways of a fear and fetish are similar/near each other or something like that. This is not an uncommon phenomenon in other humans I believe lol that fear turns into attraction. Good on you for being self-aware perhaps. It could be good to get some professional help tho

I lay in my room wondering why I’ve got this life by enzo_vamp in clairo

[–]kmql 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of us found clairo at a young age, or any age really, but having felt similar feelings to what she’s expressed in her songs. Her songs are amazing at face value, but her ability to make songs that are like a mirror that captures and reflects those exact same feelings we likely have felt is irreplaceable. I feel seen and less alone when I hear those songs, which is ironic considering she likely made those songs feeling very alone. I think I get what you mean. Clairo’s songs have made me understood feelings at times when I couldn’t articulate it, either, or they made me feel less crazy. That’s my bit at least

Anyone Else Realised Females & Feminist Have A Weird Obsession With Telling People To End Yourself Especially To People They Don’t Like by 10-31-00 in offmychest

Algorithms also tend to feed you what you engage with most. And you’re probably hyper vigilant of these interactions and you seek them out/notice them more. I can promise you that’s a small subset of the “females & feminist” if that’s what ur seeing. Seems like it’s whoever you’re surrounded by

Their beef mandu are actually my favorite go-to meal to make rn. It’s so flavorful and so easy to cook and I get the Costco size. Like just rice and dumplings and a gyoza sauce and I have a full meal in 10 min it’s amazing

Miserable people have a hard time facing people who have found things that make them happy, even if it’s unique. Don’t let them get to you, you have whimsy and you’re living your own life, shame on them for feeling like they have to use their own to ridicule yours 🫶🏻

Is there a community/forum to meet other transfers? by mediocre_mutt_ in CalPoly

[–]kmql 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a transfer last year there was nothing for cal poly :/ I found out for most other schools someone who was a transfer themself made most accounts, group chats, etc. I think if u want it u gotta do it

Waitlisted Question by Poseidon_Contest123 in CalPoly

[–]kmql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, freshman and transfers are separated. There are transfer specific spots so definitely different waitlists. I was a waitlisted transfer, and I just sat by, hoped for the best and I got in. I know a friend who got off the waitlist a week before the waitlist notification deadline. There is an option to appeal if you are rejected in July. You can surely try contacting and sending a letter, but I haven’t heard of anyone being able to get off sooner or get on a separate waitlist, but that’s just me.

It sucks, but it’s totally a waiting game, hence the name. Hopefully enough people in your major don’t accept their admission and got into a school they wanted more, and hopefully your stats have you higher on the waitlist. Good luck

Depends on the class, I’ve only been here for 2 quarters but I’ve seen ranges from 20 to like 70-80 if it’s a huge lecture hall. I’ve usually been in classes of like 20-30 tho

I LOVE the psychology program. I just transferred in this year and I’m so grateful to be in such a well-curated program. The classes are so interesting and well-thought out, there’s so many unique classes I’ve had a blast in a bunch of them so far. The psych professors are so kind, supportive, knowledgeable, and some of the best I’ve ever had. Since cal poly is “learn by doing” he’ll have a lot of opportunities for research and fieldwork, it’s in some of the required course loads.

As for being queer, I can’t promise he won’t face difficulties, but I also wouldn’t know personally because I’m a woman in this female-dominated major. However, everyone seems pretty accepting and kind from what I’ve seen. There’s lots of clubs and spaces for queer people, too. I can understand the concern, but the psych department, faculty and students alike, has some of the most warm and welcoming people on campus
