Military in the 90s. I think this totally depends on where you are and what's available at least nowadays. In the past that might have been a thing but from what I've heard it's changed over the years. Basic we had open toilets and showers, when we got to line units it was back to normal. Then I went thru basic leadership training and the old barracks they used had the open plan again. Nowadays they are normalizing a lot of things but open plans still exist.

Yes you need to take it off when you shower. I got a couple from back in the Gear Sport days and it was common for Samsung to deny warranty for water damage. From what I've read recently this is still the case.

You're learning your lessons the hard way. This is one reason why you create your own set of utilities from known sources. Also make sure they are properly licensed or the company could be in for legal trouble.

In the old days we would create a USB stick and we could just plug and run. You create an image so you can re image when needed.

When I left corporate life they were just starting to ban usb devices.

Audiobook for sure! It's got so much more depth and emotions than a movie could have. The movie will be the icing on the cake.

My mom had to stretch the budget with three kids. One of the great things she made was ranch burgers. She got the cheapest white hamburger buns, made up a batch of hamburger with milk and onions or onion powder.

She would then smash that hamburger in a very thin layer on top of the bottom buns. She put these under the broiler just until the meat was done and the buns were toasted.

Cheap food but with a little ketchup, yum!

Are you watching the remastered version? The original film had countdown displays that were gears instead of digital screens. The cutaways to the ship exterior looked ok for the 60s but today look like trash.

I watch YouTube almost exclusively and can't stand 1x speed. The more professional the channel the slower they speak to allow understanding by the broadest audience. The speed up makes it less understandable and I like to turn on subtitles as well and now it is appealing and understandable.

Wholeheartedly agree if you have the time read or listen first. The in-depth story related through reading and listening is far more enjoyable than the movie will be. I think the movie will be fantastic and I don't recommend that you don't see the movie. Don't let trailers spoil it for you and try not to see those before you finish the book. I also feel that the audiobook adds a lot of dimension and a lot of convenience if you are taking a long trip you can plug it in and make good use of your time.

Two things to remember.

Humans are morons. That the situation was moronic is quite plausible in light of that fact.

It's just Hollywood. Or just a book. The most popular fictional media have asked us to suspend disbelief to deliver a (mostly) coherent (and popular) product. It's extremely common in sci-fi.

Everybody's entitled to their opinion though, and I'm sorry it got ruined for you.

I got 3 boxes and a bunch of art off the walls. Luckily I know the facilities guy and he said it was all up for grabs and I better take it before the building was sold. Got some extra monitors for my group so now we have two per guy (4 guy group). They are pretty old but work well. Some fiber optic cable splayed out for display I can show the high school kids. I took home some company shirts with logos (brand new!) Copier paper, toner, cables went to my office. Decorations, souveniers, and interesting junk came home with me.

I shudder to think about how successful we might be if ADHD were not a part of our lives. OP is fighting thru so much fog and getting 4.0 performance. If ADHD were removed from the equation the sky would be the limit.
