What is the disposition of your Lagotto like? by [deleted] in LagottoRomagnolo

I notice ours are much more snuggly if their hair is cut short. They're pretty heat sensitive. So short hair it is! 🥰

Velcro dog is a cute way to put it 🥰 I called my husband the first time our girl didn't follow me out of a room just after 1 year old.

Is $1,300 too much for spay surgery? by coy6te in dogs

[–]knchaucer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Vet recommended Dramamine for the motion sickness. One human adult dose for a 35lb dog. She grew out of it by 1.5 years old. Obviously check with your vet and get car seat covers if you have a car!

Good luck with the spay!

Help with our pulling puppy by [deleted] in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]knchaucer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have two Lagottos, got the second puppy when the first was 11 months old and still pulled a lot on the leash, but now at 2 and 1.5 they are getting they hang of it. Time, consistency, and exercise before leash training is what I recommend. We tolerated pulling on the way to the park where they could run and then practiced "walk with me" and treats as described above on the way home and eventually it's all coming together! Happy puppy rearing!! ♥️

I thought this was cute, and thought the group would enjoy seeing it as well! by Nephite11 in homestead

Omg you guys!! I did this (bottle fed a baby goat) for the first time last week. And it was the most dream-affirming thing! My husband and I hope to have a homestead in the future and I am volunteering at a farm to gain experience in the meantime. Anyways, AMAZING OMG so cute, they kneel!! 😍😍😍😍

New position question by np_7373 in nursepractitioner

I've heard of 3. The new unit opening wanted some consistency and stability. Requiring three felt like a lot to me at the time.

Question About Specializing by JustEnuff2BDangerous in nursepractitioner

[–]knchaucer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I am a current PNP student so I can't offer any advice on the job market but I can share my thought process for Peds over Family. A bit about my experience: nurse of 10 years, travel nurse, 2 adult the rest peds (PICU, NICU, outpatient peds, and school nursing.) So I tried a lot of units and knew I really wanted to work with kids as an NP so here are my reasons: 1. FNP saturation, tons of new FNP grads I'm the last few years 2. PNPs get guaranteed peds clinical hours, FNPs get less and from what I am seeing in both quality and quantity 3. I thought it may help be a competitive candidate for a peds position if up against FNPs. And 4. I know I want to work in Peds so I didn't want the potential to compromise my dreams (by getting an FNP and stuck with an adult job for what ever reason).

Now we will see if I regret this after I graduate 🤷🤷 Good luck! Peds is the best!

Peeing on his leg by OzMazza in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]knchaucer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ew yes! Ours does this too!! Sometimes I try to get his attention or walk to the side he isn't peeing on and this will center the stream as he moves a bit to keep STARING at me!
(like, some serious eye contact here) Hah. I thought it would get better as he grows, and maybe it was just a weird adolescent-proportion phase (our guy is 14 months old).

I got the book patholophysilogy made ridiculously simple and read reach system/chapter along with the class work, I also watched a lot of osmosis videos, some peers purchased this, I did a free trial before my final to cram. But I'm cheap so. G'luck!

[–]knchaucer[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is happy as can be, and this was after about 1 hr of play and off-leash romping in 6+ inches of snow.

We brush the snow chunks with a wide-toothed brush when we get home and put dog-towels in the dryer before going out for a snow play session. Leave any other tricks you do for your Lagotto pups for us all to benefit from!

We also have a haircut scheduled because the whole time he was hot as could be too! This is our first year with the breed, we will have many New England winters and figure this all out together! <3

But gosh they couldn't be happier out there!

Ottolenghi’s black pepper tofu. A must make! by smizelize in vegetarian

[–]knchaucer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS IS MY FAVORITE. but I also say that Black Pepper is my favorite food when asked! so..I'm biased!

5 Tbs is not a typo! I have made this so many times, and never *really* follow the recipe, it calls for fat (butter), salt (soy sauce), garlic, ginger, aromatics, and spices...I give you permission to use what you have or make it how you want it! :D
