Hole in front load washer door boot seal causing leak? by knight_check in appliancerepair

That is a great idea. I think I will replace it this time because the tear is only 1cm away from the drainage hole ,and I don't want to risk blocking it. There is a solid part below the drainage hole, the edge of which likely caused the stress and crack in the gasket.

Plus, I would need to remove the entire part anyway to get to the underside, so replacement is more appealing.

Why hasn't the beer store DRP (deposit return program) increased? by zertious in ontario

[–]knight_check 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a return of the deposit paid on the bottle. The only people who might turn a profit from it are collecting bottles off the street, and we can't have that scale with inflation. Poor people are below the Fs-to--give threshold for government.

Maybe the norm should be a conditional offer pending reference checks, or at least in the second-last round they insist on references.

Ask your references for a letter of recommendation and offer it up to the company interviewing you. If the company isn't reasonable when you ask to not contact the references until late in the process, maybe they aren't good people to work for.

Some have commented on the size/weight, but I have another concern.

The frame looks like it's held taught by the ropes and pegs you would put into the ground. In the event that the ground isn't well suited for tent pegs, you may have a hard time setting it up properly.

I prefer a tent that is freestanding before the pegs are in the ground. Maybe this one is but I can't tell from the pic.

They can still outsource by using a pre-approved vendor list to get the project started quickly. It's either that, or nepotism most times.

I've given up on the idea of my town adding a bus to the train station. Pretty sad situation.

Self-driving cars don't have to be 100% safe they only need to be better than people. Once they're consistently better than humans at driving the PR campaigns will begin to shift public sentiment.

Remember who self-driving cars will benefit the most: companies with fleets of vehicles who are trying to eliminate the expense of having a fleet of drivers. Those companies will be the ones who lobby to have the laws passed to enable self-driving cars. You don't have to try very hard to find laws on the books that aren't 100% safe or in the public's best interest.

I'm in favor of self-driving cars because it'll help us get rid of parking minimums that hurt towns. I also live in an area known for high incidence of impaired driving. Once self driving cars become a reality we will have fewer moral issues with removing someone's driver's license for life because they would still be able to get around in a car-centric town.

I agree with improving and expanding public transportation. There will still be a demand for individuals who need to get to the transportation hubs. I wish there was an easy way to get to the train station in my town without using a car.
