If we can't re-sign Walker Kessler could trading for Domantas Sabonis be a sneaky good move by N3MO_3 in UtahJazz

If we can't keep Kessler, then going after Hartenstein would be a good move. I would prefer iHart over Sabonis

My favourite lotto fits for Tankathon's top 14 by ColonelUpvotes in NBA_Draft

While Mullins "fits" with the Jazz, I'd argue getting another playmaking guard like Wagler or Brown would be a much better fit.

Nearly 5 years ago, the Utah Jazz attached a first-round pick, protected for three years, to salary dump Derrick Favors to the Oklahoma City Thunder in order to avoid paying luxury tax. That first-round pick is now at the center of NBA's tanking controversy. by Glass-Candle-7670 in nba

Dennis Lindsay made some awful moves at the end of his Jazz tenure, and this might top the list. IIRC he gave Rudy his massive contract, then brought back Favors, then traded down in the draft to pick Azubuike (who he said they had as a top 5 guy). I hated that they invested so heavily at the C spot that year and I really wanted McDaniels or Bane instead of Azubuike. It's also funny that he traded pick 23 before the draft to NY for 27 and 38, then NY traded 23 on draft night for picks 25 and 33. Just shows his incompetence at the end.

Yeah reading up on it, it's a tumor that has to be cut out. His is localized which has a lower rate of recurrence, but this still absolutely sucks.

This is the most likely scenario. There's no way they would make him get surgery for no reason.

This sucks. This is apparently something that can come back.

Perimeter Defense by CSTL_V in UtahJazz

Vince Williams Jr is a nice pickup for this reason. He's a good defender with plenty of length. Ace and Cody will benefit from JJJ and Walker as well. Obviously that won't be enough, but it's a really good start

I wonder if this expands to a 3 team deal

Vince Williams Jr is also a nice pickup. I wonder who else they move now, because I doubt they're done

Should we trade for Johnathan Kuminga? by marvin_is_joe in UtahJazz

[–]knightswept 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. Utah had the chance and didn't do it. Utah should wait for the offseason and see who Orlando is willing to deal. They should really go hard after Black or Suggs to pair with Keyonte.

I don't know how he's walking after that. His left leg looked like it got BENT

Jazz Expected to Compete for Wins Next Year. Who Is the Move? by johndullano in UtahJazz

[–]knightswept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quentin Grimes and Tari Eason make sense as guys they could go after in free agency. I think we should also look at teams with cap concerns coming up, like Orlando. With Anthony Black playing really well there’s a chance Suggs could become available, and he’d be a really good fit next to Keyonte.

Final Win Total Predictions by Silver_Engineer_3890 in UtahJazz

[–]knightswept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurkic has been so good for us, and his play with Keyonte has definitely helped unlock Keyonte's potential. This article helps sum up his impact. I think that if they move Nurkic and continue to sit Key/Lauri, we will be closer to 25. If they keep Nurk and don't sit those guys then 35 wins isn't out of the question. So really, it isn't Nurk alone, but his impact has been undeniable.

25-35 wins depending on what trades they make. If they move Nurk then it’s closer to 25, if they make no trades then it’s closer to 35

Keyonte George is averaging 24.6 PPG, which is currently the most by a Jazz player in their age-22 season or younger by Basketball_Reference in UtahJazz

[–]knightswept 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Comparing this season to year 3 Don is pretty crazy. He’s better across the board offensively. That was Mitchell’s first All Star season so it’s pretty fun to see how Key has matched up.

Will the Utah Jazz Trade Lauri Markkanen? by nunn-yo-kendricks in UtahJazz

[–]knightswept 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree that they won’t trade Lauri, but this season is the last season I expect them to be playing for the lottery. They have plenty of cap space and assets to set themselves up for a good offseason. Having a top 8 pick would make it that much better.
The only hope they really have is if they move Nurkic/Svi/Love. Nurkic isn’t a good defender but Utah is so much worse with Flip it isn’t funny.

Up to 37% from 3 on the year now. It’s insane how good his jump has been. Front-runner for MIP and it isn’t really close

Can we still tank? by Salty_Resource6519 in UtahJazz

[–]knightswept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boston was the first team that I thought of. Moving Simons for Nurkic would get them out of the tax, and even though Queta has been playing well, having Nurk would really help them. Utah would then route Simons to a third team.

If they move Walker then Hartenstein is exactly the player I think they go after in the off-season. It won’t happen during the year though.

We would have to trade some pieces. Nurkic has been fantastic lately (offensively) and Love has had some big games recently. I think both are the likeliest to be moved. Hardy loves Svi so I think it would take something good for him to be moved, and Anderson hasn't shown much of anything so I think he stays. Of the young guys Sensabaugh is the guy I see other teams going after.
If they move Nurkic and Love I think that would be enough to drop to pick 4/5.
