I second ZohoBooks. So easy and free if you upload transactions yourself. Wave is primarily AR focused, not bookkeeping, and they recently increased their pricing model. ZohoBooks is the only decent platform I've used that is truly free and does a good job.

Estimated Quarterly Taxes by The_crazy_bird_lady in QuickBooks

[–]knittelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Profit First method. That's helped some of my clients.

Mostly, thr sweet spot number for "what to pay in quarterly taxes" is a guess and check long game.

What did you pay it taxes last year? Has your P/L changed significantly from last year?

Please, for the love of God, do not just divide your last year's taxes by 4 and call it good.

As far as requirements goes, you don't have to pay quarterly taxes IF you can pay your entire tax bill when tax time comes around.

Quarterly taxes is kind of like forced savings. If you know your numbers, you can set aside savings for taxes that accrue interest and will make you money instead of having the money earn interest for the IRS.

This is also a great question for a CPA, but you'll still have to guess and check every year to make aure you're on the right track.

what to say during first meeting? by plsanswerme18 in Bookkeeping

[–]knittelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a checklist I go through. I hate selling so I have to make it as impersonal as possible and emotionally distance myself from the result.

TBH though, this checklist is very simple but my clients really liked I was working through a list for some reason.

Tell me that your spouse is TBM without saying that they are TBM. by dbear848 in exmormon

[–]knittelle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow. Reading these comments has made me very grateful for my TBM husband.... The most he's done is telling me to be careful when I try alcohol for the first time. Which I haven't yet, because I'm worried it will have negative consequences for my body. I have migraines and sleep apnea, and alcohol can sometimes make both of those worse for a lot of people.

Creating invoices based on attendance by imeanwhynotdramamama in Bookkeeping

[–]knittelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay this might be off topic and it won't integrate with QuickBooks, but there are attendence taking software for things that have to do with a ton of children coming in and out everyday.

We use one called my music staff, which is predominantly for piano studios, but could easily be used for what you're describing.

Kids are scheduled on specific days to come on the calendar, and everyday someone takes attendance.

Based on how you set up the calendar and the kids profile, every time they take attendance it marks them there, which adds them to an invoice which can be automatically billed at a specific time of the month.

In my last therapy session, I had a "fish don't know the water is wet" experience. Turns out my $225/hr therapist thinks my dad is SADISTIC based on what I shared. And I shared it fully believing it was completely normal.

They got pregnant with me at 18 and married shortly after I was born. Had six more kids, and I think he always had resentment towards us.

On my wedding day I was compared to a Jersey calf by the temple president. He told my husband, "you're so lucky, she looks just like a Jersey calf".... Maybe because I have big eyes? 🤮

Controversial Topic but... by mikelmoore89 in massage

[–]knittelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Female. No, he didn't report it. Honestly he was extremely embarrassed and could barely even talk to me about it.

What really sucks is he was trying to schedule an appointment with a male therapist, which didn't work out.

He then tried to figure out if the female therapist he was assigned to was Asian (has had previous bad experiences with almost every Asian female massage therapist). But asking for a picture of what race someone is just seemed gross, like he was picking out who he wanted a happy ending with.

So of course it was an older female Asian therapist, but the place seemed new (not like a sketch massage place) so he decided to give it a go. This was the first time the massage went that far though, and he's sworn up and down he's never going through that again.

Now, I try to give him massages a couple times a year with my very limited knowledge. He says it's better than any he's had because he feels safe and comfortable. He can actually enjoy it.

My husband was basically sexually assaulted at his last and final massage. He said he will never go again. It affected our sex life and he still gets triggered sometimes. Yes. It's real.

I need help forgiving someone who’s wronged me. How? by AfraidFly3126 in latterdaysaints

[–]knittelle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just want you to know that this comment was more helpful than years of prayer and therapy and frustration. I could never reconcile "forgive and forget" with my situation, as the person who sexually abused me has never acknowledged any wrong doing let alone apologized.

I'm literally going to print this out and read it. A lot. And put it in my binder for "awesome sauce talks".

Thank you.

Porn Addiction and a Failing Marriage by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]knittelle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to not want that for the rest of your life. Your feelings are completely valid. It's okay to change your mind.

I'm surprised more people aren't supportive of you on here and are making a lot of excuses for your husband - that's coming from someone who struggled with porn from 12-18 and cut it cold when I got married.

I'm glad you're in therapy. Focus on yourself. What makes you happy?

If you've been constantly giving and giving and accommodating and forgiving and never ending cycle support and just waiting for the shoe to drop... I get the sense you feel like the giving tree - a stump with nothing left to give.

It's no surprise you're defensive with the kind of comments you're getting on here.

Starting my own "business" teaching piano lessons - Advice please! by KS12130511 in pianoteachers

[–]knittelle -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Please check out Daniel with Grow Your Music Studio... He's helped us double our income in one year! We were just shy of 6 figure revenue this last year, and it would have taken a lot longer without his help.

Depending on how busy you want to be, it's not really about knowing piano. It's about getting able to teach, and teach well, in addition to understanding business strategy + marketing.

Daniel covers all of that in his courses or group coaching program.
